Bitter sweet moment receiving Vivienne Morpeth book today, but what a fabulous memorial to her creative talent. Such a shame that she didn't live long enough to see her book finally in print.
Lizzie Houghton introduced me to and later Vivienne cemented my love of the technique. Today it is the backbone of my feltmaking life.
I first met Vivienne properly when I joined the International Feltmakers Association committee many years ago. Much later, taking a workshop with her I made the tunic in the photo, one of my favourite pieces that I wear regularly. I dyed most of the fabrics and fibres and wasn't certain about the yellow, but Vivienne encouraged me to include it and what a difference it made. Happy memories.❤️

Very pleased with this Nuno scarf. Mocha chocolate, teal and sunset Merino & Blue Faced Leicester wool fibres on a vintage pre-loved floral scarf.

Sorry to mention the 'C' word, but yesterday marked exactly 5 months until Christmas Day! I 'celebrated' by starting to build up my stock ready for my Autumn fairs, making a lovely floral Numo felt scarf.

I had a lovely day last Saturday exhibiting at It was a challenge demonstrating outside on a moderately windy day, but these little pieces are now dry and ready to embellish with stitch.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to find out what I was doing! Thanks too to the organisers for a lovely, well organised event ❤️

Same resist, same technique, many different results. All these vessels were made using the plastic resist at the centre of the first photo.

Varying the place and size of the opening, laying the fibres out differently and manipulating it differently give strikingly variations.
