Happy New Year to all fellow war collectors! 🎉

As we move into 2026, I’m looking forward to adding even more pieces of history to the collection and sharing plenty of new finds, research, and updates along the way.

There’s so much still out there to discover, preserve, and appreciate-and I can’t wait to bring you all along for the journey.

That said, I suspect my partner may not be quite as enthusiastic about the ever-growing shelves, boxes, and “just one more item”…😂 but history waits for no one! Here’s to another year of collecting, learning, and keeping the past alive.

Today marks Battle of Britain Day 🇬🇧✈️

On this day in 1940, brave men and women stood up against overwhelming odds to defend our skies, our country, and our freedom. Winston Churchill said it best: “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”

We owe an eternal debt of gratitude to the veterans and all who served during the Battle of Britain. Their courage, sacrifice, and determination will never be forgotten.

Thank you to The Few — today and always, we remember you. 🙏❤️

Today, we remember and honor VJ Day — Victory over Japan Day — marking the end of World War II on August 15, 1945.

It was a day when the world breathed a collective sigh of relief, when peace returned after years of hardship, and when millions of families began to hope for a future free from the shadows of war.

We honor the courage and sacrifice of those who served, the resilience of those on the home front, and the countless lives touched by this global conflict.

Let’s carry forward the lessons of unity, perseverance, and peace that this day represents — and never forget the cost of the freedoms we cherish.

🪖WW2 Deactivated Relic 1936 PO8 Luger🪖

❗️DESCRIPTION❗️
The Pistole Parabellum, also known as the Parabellum-Pistole or simply the Luger, is a toggle-locked recoil-operated semi-automatic pistol. Produced in several models by various nations from 1898 to 1949, the Luger remained a popular firearm for over five decades.

Now in our collection is a 1936 dated S/42 Code, Ma**er production in relic deactivated condition. Unfortunately doesn’t have magazine that came with this, however we do have one that would’ve been used if needed. Has full moving parts just a non-firing action.

💬 “Great for new collectors, cheap due to the condition of this, eventually we will acquire a good condition one which will be in the future”.

Today, we mark the passing of Donald Rose, the UK’s oldest Second World War veteran, who passed away at the remarkable age of 110 🌹

Originally from Surrey, Donald joined the Queen’s Royal Regiment and trained as a sniper. His time as a Desert Rat, where he had to drink salty water, contributed to his remarkable longevity.

During his service, Donald survived a bullet to the leg during the D-Day landings and was part of the division that liberated the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in northern Germany.

His bravery and service were recognised with numerous medals, including the Legion D’Honneur, France’s highest honour.

Donald’s life and legacy serve as a poignant reminder of the invaluable sacrifices made by those who served during the Second World War.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.❤️

July 1st, 1916…

The sun rose soft on northern France,
A golden lie in morning’s glance.
The larks still sang above the wire,
As men stood waiting, hearts on fire.

In trenches damp with sweat and clay,
They clutched their thoughts and turned to pray.
For whistles blew at morning light—
And boys became the ghosts of night.

Through fields once green, now torn and bare,
They rose into machine gun glare.
A hundred thousand hearts beat loud,
Then fell beneath a bloody shroud.

The poppies watched with crimson eyes
As dreams were crushed beneath the skies.
The earth itself refused to yield,
And swallowed men in no-man’s field.

What glory spoke that day of wrath?
What honor walked that scarlet path?
Just mud, and wire, and shattered bone,
And names on stones that stand alone.

Oh Somme, your river runs with tears
Of mothers silenced through the years.
Still every July’s silent bell
Marks where the flower of youth once fell.

So let us not forget their pain,
Or count the loss in mere campaign.
For every lad who went that day
Gave all, then vanished into clay.

🌺 We will never forget,Always Remembered ❤️

Today marks the official celebration of the King’s Birthday, highlighted by one of the most iconic traditions associated with the monarchy -Trooping the Colour. This striking spectacle reflects the deep-rooted connection between the Sovereign and the Armed Forces and showcases the rich heritage of Britain’s military. 🇬🇧

Formally known as The King’s Birthday Parade, this grand display brings together more than 1,400 marching soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians from the Household Division. It all builds to the much-anticipated RAF flypast — a thrilling finale that never fails to inspire.

The ceremony itself has origins dating back to the 17th century, when regimental flags — known as “Colours” — were paraded in front of troops so they could be easily recognised in battle. What began as a practical necessity has become a powerful tradition, connecting today’s military with its historic roots.

Beyond pageantry, Trooping the Colour is a profound symbol of allegiance — a clear display of the Armed Forces’ steadfast loyalty to the Crown and a showcase of the outstanding precision and discipline that define military life.

This event also celebrates excellence, with each movement and formation executed to perfection, reflecting the dedication and professionalism of service members. It is a public tribute to those who serve, and a reminder of the sacrifices made in service of the nation.

Each year, a different regiment of the Foot Guards is given the honour of trooping its Colour, providing a moment of recognition for its individual history and identity. This year, it is the Coldstream Guards — the oldest continuously serving regular regiment in the British Army — who will take centre stage.

As we take in the splendour of this ceremonial event, let us also reflect on its meaning — a timeless tribute to our military’s courage, discipline, and enduring commitment to the nation and its history. ❤️
