My name is Laure Kabuika, and today, I want to share not just a business idea, but a deeply personal journey that has inspired me to take this bold step toward positive change. It’s been 10 years since I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, a rare chronic condition that affects the way nerves communicate with muscles. This means that my muscles can easily become fatigued, making everyday tasks like walking or lifting objects more challenging. It also means I’ve come to understand firsthand the importance of living in spaces that are thoughtfully designed for accessibility—spaces that allow people like me to thrive, rather than struggle. The initiative aims to transform homes and public spaces into inclusive and eco-friendly havens, featuring examples like
barrier-free entrances from reclaimed wood, adjustable recycled countertops, anti-slip flooring, and voice-controlled clean energy lighting. The goal is to empower individuals with disabilities or reduced mobility by creating welcoming, functional, and inspiring spaces, ultimately fostering independence and dignity. Lumini Interiors is an establishment with a new standard in interior design that prioritizes both aesthetics and the needs of those requiring accessible spaces, advocating for a greener and more inclusive future.
