You may have realised by now that I’m a big fan of adding wallpaper to my designs and this gorgeous wallpaper from really is a stunning example of how a wallpaper can make a small room feel more spacious and interesting.
Shown here in the downstairs WC from my project in Sydenham.
Each time you look at it you see something new.
Lower level reed and bead panelling was also added, painted in Pigeon, with a dimmer switch from in their antique brass finish, which naturally patinas over time.
Small spaces shouldn’t be overlooked when designing your home. They should be just as interesting and beautiful as the main rooms πŸ’™

Transforming this downstairs WC from a dark and dated space, with heavy dark tiles and dim lighting to a beautiful space that now feels light and spacious, with a gorgeous wallcovering from which acts as artwork for the room as it’s so intricately detailed.
This space is now unrecognisable from its former self.
We repositioned the entry door to allow for a good sized vanity, with beautiful wall lights and added pretty panelling with hidden storage.
The existing flooring was also replaced with delicate mosaic tiles from

A view of the kitchen from my Sydenham project, which was completely transformed from what was previously the dining room.
Swipe right for the before video. showing how it previously looked with bright pink wallpaper and heavy patterned curtains.
I showed my clients an alternative layout to what their architect had suggested and I’m so pleased they went with it πŸ’™
We opened up the space between the dining room and the existing kitchen and swapped the locations round to create a much bigger kitchen that allowed for a beautiful island to the centre.
Also adding lots of storage, which is vital in any family home and a minibar and seating snug area to the dining room.
Now the space feels spacious and refined.
A social space to enjoy as a family and with friends, with new large double doors that open out onto the beautiful garden that wraps around the house.
Please do get in touch if you would like to look at your home from a new perspective and make the most out of every inch.
I offer initial design consultation meetings to begin a project.
In this initial meeting we can focus on your priority areas, whether that be looking at layouts, talking through bathroom or kitchen design ideas, joinery design to enhance a space and create extra storage, paint colours and finishes or help with lighting, furniture and soft furnishing selections. Following this meeting I can then put together a full design proposal for the areas discussed and can share suppliers and tradespeople I have worked with to make the
the design a reality πŸ’™ Please contact me for pricing and for more information on how we can work together.

A pop of colour was added to the inside of this pantry unit from my Sydenham project.
Adding a contrast colour to a cabinet or piece of joinery creates an unexpected surprise and adds depth to the design and can be used to compliment other colours in the room.
This beautiful dark green from was also used to the island of the kitchen.
This project has windows to each end of the kitchen and the green colour draws in the beautiful green tones from the front and rear garden.
Please contact me if you need help with the design of your home and would like to create some design surprises of your own πŸ’™

Emma Masters Interiors is celebrating 5 years in business πŸ’™πŸ₯‚
The time has flown and I’ve been lucky enough to have worked on some gorgeous projects with so many amazing clients and suppliers in this time.
It was a big step for me to start my own company, moving away from a large design practice where I had worked for over 16 years, working on beautiful luxury hotels and cruise ships and during the craziness of Covid.
I’m so glad I made that leap and I want to say thank you to all of the clients I have worked with and the suppliers that have supported my projects and I’m looking forward to lots more exciting opportunities with new and existing clients and suppliers in the future.

This is the dining area in the open plan kitchen/dining space from my project in Sydenham.
The gorgeous existing parquet flooring was replicated from the hallway and living area to flow into this space.
Bespoke joinery was added to create storage and a snug corner seat, to be able to relax and enjoy a drink from the beautiful mini bar area.
The room now feels spacious and inviting, a social space that can be enjoyed, much more suited to family living πŸ’™

A shot taken in the kitchen of this recently completed project in Sydenham.
We reconfigured the ground floor layout to flip the location of the existing kitchen and dining room and opened up the space to create an open plan kitchen/dining area that was more in proportion to the beautiful scale of this home.
We used soft warm tones of green and stone and added antique brass metal details to the touch points of the handles/switches and taps.
I’ll be sharing lots more from this project.
It was a joy to work on, with such lovely clients. πŸ’™

An amazing testimonial received from one of my clients who is a property developer, please swipe across for the full testimonial.
I helped his company with design concepts through to selecting finishes, furniture and lighting for several projects based in London and the Kent coast.
Working with them at the very early stages, when they were trying to obtain planning permission, I put together layouts and mood boards for the planning committee to see the design intent for the properties.
All of the projects have been full of potential and it’s been great working with a developer who really valued restoring and retaining the character of the existing buildings.
We spent lots of time selecting the right style of windows/fireplaces and colour schemes and details such as skirting and cornicing that were in keeping with the ages of the properties.
Please contact me if you are a property developer and need assistance with your next project.

Beautifully considered joinery can define a room.
It can provide much needed storage & can also be a place to add those personal touches to your home if open shelving is incorporated into it.
The shot here, taken from my recently completed project in Dulwich Village, shows a view to the new joinery that was added to the alcoves. It has a combination of closed storage below with open shelving above. The shelving also includes discreet recessed shelf lighting, which provides a beautifully warm glow, making the room feel inviting and elegant, especially when combined with the sumptuous new upholstery from πŸ’™
