One of my favourite things about this time of year - enjoying a cup of warm mulled wine 🥰 the first sip is like a hug on the inside and it tastes like Christmas.

This candle is bursting with aromas of warm wine and sweet berries 🍓 Accompanied by bay, cinnamon and ginger on a vanilla base. This fragrance creates a warm ambient aroma, perfect on those cold winter nights ❄️

We have traded our simple white tissue paper for a festive snowflake one and added recycled Christmas tree stickers because as the sign at ASDA informed me this evening, there are only 20 days to Christmas!! 🎅🎄

Christmas wrapping will come as standard with all orders ❄️❄️

Ps. The stickers can be left on the box as they too are fully recyclable ♻️

Today is Remembrance Day. It marks the day World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918 🕊️

It is a day to commemorate servicemen and women who suffered or died in the line of duty 🪖

Candles are well known for their soothing & healing properties 🤍

When lit in times of death, candles can also signify the light in the next world ✨

Lekker is an Afrikaans word used to describe something that is cool, awesome, delicious, nice (...I think you get the picture😉)

This common phrase means that things close to home are often best 🤍

There is something alluring about a land far away but so often we forget what our own country, local area or people have to offer.. 🌿

Power in numbers 💪🏻

As we are all aware, climate change is real. And scary. I learnt today is Earth Overshoot Day which basically means that the resources that should last us the year.. we've already used. With more than a third of the year to go. Yep. Scary. 🤯

And sure, it's easy to blame government, other countries, other people, and yes, no one is perfect BUT you don't need to be. This Earth belongs to all of us and we can ALL make a positive difference. No matter how small. There is power in numbers! 🙌🏻

I thought I'd share some of my changes or products I've used or switched to 👉🏻

🌿 Eco-friendly dishwashing tablets and washing pods (highly recommend )
🌿 Shampoo bars (plastic free & work better than I thought! I use the new ones)
🌿 Cycle my work commute (doubles up as my exercise which is grand)

And of course, all Khaya Candles materials & packaging are selected with sustainability at its core ♻️

I am by no means perfect and we are all in a different place in our journey. We can all contribute, no matter how small, to a better world 🌍
