The lower ground floor kitchen, living, dining area in our London Fields townhouse project. Prior to the redesign this space felt dark and fairly uninviting. There were some questionable gold tiles across the chimney and storage was lacking. We flipped the ends of the room creating a comfortable living area next to the garden, and the dining area into the front, adding a corner banquette seat and layered lighting for ambient cosy dinners. We sanded and restrained the floors, added joinery to the two front alcoves, one became a dedicated bar, and swapped the dark navy and grey walls for a cleaner and punchier palate.

A room of two halves, but woven together in a considered way. We layered colours and textures, switching into a deeper shade in the north facing side of the room, which lends itself to a cosier library space. We kept the sunnier end of the room brighter and fresher, amplified with Marigold. 🌞

We have some very exciting projects kicking off this year - and we’re particularly excited about our Ravenscourt Park townhouse. Starting on site in late April, this double height extension, designed and developed by .elephant.architects will start to take shape after 12 months of planning and designing. We will reconfiguring the other floors, to create a truly spectacular family home. Looking forward to working with the brilliant team on this too.

We received the keys to our new adobe last week, currently a commercial space, which will undergo some serious TLC over the next year. Previously an accountancy firm for 40+ years the space has a real air of Slough House to it, but under all the strip lights and PPE signage there are beautiful bones which we plan to restore. We have thoughtfully planned out a loft, a rear extension and reconfigured the current layout of multiple offices for how we want to live. Big changes have occurred since we last embarked on our house 6 years ago and it will be so nice to properly start afresh, and carefully integrate all the elements I’ve been saving in that time. Very excited to be working with friends and regular collaborators .elephant.architects on this and see their genius planning come to life. Stay tuned ✨

The kitchen of a project completed last year in Dulwich Village. We worked meticulously with the architect and joiner to deliver on the details of this and the result is a bright and beautiful kitchen, with tonnes of storage and character.

It was key that the textured grain on the door was visible, and it felt more like a stained timber than a painted matt/flat door. This teamed with the Tuscan red partition is such a simple but clean and contemporary way of layering colour in a kitchen.
