Happy new year friends!! Did you celebrate? I'm wishing you all joy and success for 2024.

The festive season has been very hectic for me, so it's nice to finally have some time to relax. Earlier in December, I exhibited at a Christmas market in Tonbridge, a small town in Kent where I went to school. It was such a lovely opportunity to meet customers in real life and chat about my favourite topic: wax alchemy!

It's been a while since I posted on this account, so I just wanted to quickly introduce myself:

Hi! I'm Annmarie, the founder and candle maker behind Chai Lights. I absolutely adore this little business of mine, it really is a dream come true getting to share my love of fragrances and books with the world!

I'm also a writer, and I'm currently working on a sapphic contemporary romance novel.

My day job is in marketing and I'm a digital nomad, spending most of the year travelling while working remote. My mother helps to post out the candles while I'm gone! If you'd like to follow me on my travels and writing/bookish journey, I post about my life over at .

It's nearly September and my autumn-loving heart is so full of excitement and joy. I cannot wait to walk through beautiful golden forests with a slight chill on the air, wrapping up warm in fluffy jumpers and scarves, and buying pumpkin spice lattes. And of course, it's officially candle season! Stay tuned tomorrow for the release of my autumn range, which will include a fan favourite autumn candle from last year and one new scent. I can't wait to share them with you ❤️🕯️🍁🍂

🎉 Exciting business update 🎉You can now buy Chai Lights candles at museum gift shop in Eastbourne! This adorable little exhibition is situated right at the top of Beachy Head and showcases the stories, myths and legends of this famous English landmark. It's a beautiful little place, and I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area!
This is quite a big milestone for me as it's my first ever stockist! Even though I've sold hundreds of candles through my website, I always harboured a little fantasy of seeing my fire babies on the shelves of a real shop. And now that dream is a reality! It was such an unexpected, happy surprise when I got offered this opportunity and I couldn't be more delighted. It makes all the late nights and stress of running a small business feel so worth it. I'm so grateful that I've had the chance to work on Chai Lights this year and bring my little dream of storytelling through scent to life. Thank you to everyone who's been a part of this journey, cheered me on and listened to me moan about the frustrations of soy wax for the millionth time. And thank you to everyone who's bought one of my candles and has helped me bring that dream to life ❤️

Summer solstice is a sacred day to celebrate the sun, fire power, life and vitality. Ironically, it's been raining all day here in England, but with lockdown easing and society slowly recovering from the pandemic, things are definitely starting to look up regardless. Do you prefer sweet or savoury?
This delicious hazelnut coffee candle has been selling quickly recently. As someone with a sweet tooth (and also a writer!) this is probably my personal favourite from the collection. I just love sweet, rich, creamy smells, and I can't do anything in the morning before I've had my coffee 😂

Who else is a fan of gothic fiction? The Nevermore candle is scented with patchouli and dark, rich cocoa, evoking memories of forgotten lore and tales of the supernatural. The Raven is one of my favourite poems of all time, so I just had to make a candle for it
