Selvedge Salvage
An ongoing exploration of waste, repair and reinvention. Selvedge Salvage transforms everyday cardboard packaging into stitched sculptural surfaces. Using thread as both connector and drawing tool, the work brings together fragments of discarded boxes into new compositions that blur the lines between textile and object.

The raw edges of cut cardboard echo the sewn edge of cloth - a structural edge that prevents unravelling. Here, stitching does more than bind; it reinforces, repairs and reimagines. These fragments of commerce and consumption are given new structure and permanence.
The tension between fragility and strength, waste and worth, industry and handcraft sits at the centre of the work.

Each piece holds traces of its former life: barcodes, printer’s colour blocks, folds, dents, transit scars. The works do not conceal their histories; instead they elevate them. Salvage becomes not just material recovery, but a way of seeing value where it is usually overlooked.

Boardwalks

An ongoing body of abstract collage works constructed from upcycled cardboard. Boardwalks draws inspiration from the incidental markings of pavements, near and far, those everyday surfaces shaped by time, weather, and countless footsteps.

Managed to get a snapshot of LDF this year at Material Matters at the iconic modernist building Space House, the V&A and Cromwell Place. We particularly enjoyed the exploration of the future of materials — from natural fibres to food waste — with the Material Way platform for bio-based studies. Inspiring. material.waydesign

Dialogue Box - these original collages explore the transformative potential of everyday materials through the upcycling of a discarded cardboard box. Once a vessel for commerce and consumption, the box is deconstructed, reshaped and reimagined into an abstract composition and challenges the perception of waste and value. The raw textures, creases and imprints of its former function are preserved and celebrated in its renewal. By giving new life to a material often overlooked we ask the question can we reconsider our relationships with objects we consume and discard.

An original abstract collage of colour and shape. Assembled expressively by upcycling cardboard forms. Pop-Up Frames made the frame from 100% FSC certified material sourced from responsibly managed forests in Europe.
