I spend a lot of time in the library when at home in Delhi.

While I do relax here, the design is primarily intended to inspire a certain vigour. It’s a place I actively go to learn and to think, so the space leans a little towards formality as a way of supporting active study.

Its double height acts as vertical zoning. The two spaces are connected, but often used distinctly - upstairs for learning and creative thinking, downstairs for formalising plans and actions.

Our principle of addition through subtraction redefined spatial volumes to craft a more intimate interior narrative for this substantial Victorian Villa.

Working with, rather than against, the property’s existing architectural footprint, the space was manipulated beyond simple structural changes to fundamentally alter how it was perceived and experienced.

Through carefully considered interventions, bespoke craftsmanship and a layered material palette, we were able to create moments of intimacy within these generous volumes, balancing heritage with innovation in equal measure.

The result is a home that feels both welcoming and deeply personal, where every detail contributes to a greater sense of connection, comfort and permanence.
