Drummonds and Nicola Harding & Co. are delighted to share the forthcoming launch of the Grand Union collection. Drummonds’ MD and Creative Director, James Lentaigne, has been working closely with Nicola Harding to develop a collection that is authentic to both design houses. Named after the historic waterway that links London to Central England, the collection will include three new bathroom vanities and corresponding accessories.

Launching at WOW!House in June 2025 the Grand Union collection draws on historic design references, particularly from the Art Deco period.

This Sunday 26th January our studio showroom is open! Come and see us from 10am - 3pm. Explore selected pieces from the collection in real life: squidge our cushions, bounce on our beds, sit on our sofas and see how our lamps measure up in the flesh. Also worth noting - if you’re thinking about buying we are in the final days of our one and only sale of the year, so don’t forget to buy before pieces go back up to full price. Happy weekend!

If you’re signed up to my Newsletter “Field Notes” you might have seen the edition that went out just before Christmas where I share my fascination with Jun’ichirō Tanizaki’s beautiful book, In Praise of Shadows. I think a lot about light and lighting and how it is the ultimate tool for creating atmosphere. This is something I’ve noticed more and more on screen where there seems to be an increased appetite for shadow, with darkness often being used to create intensity, drama and intrigue. It’s a neat trick that I think translates to our homes, too. We think really carefully about creating pools of lights in our interiors and with the different lighting we design at NiX (). As you can see in this photo you can create drama by layering different styles of lamps, deep tones and patterns for a rich and atmospheric effect.
