We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Stone Fabricator with extensive hands-on experience operating CNC routers, waterjet cutting machines and other specialist fabrication equipment to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate, cut, shape, polish and finish natural stone, quartz and porcelain materials to exact specifications.
Operate and programme CNC routers, waterjet cutting machines, bridge saws and other advanced stone fabrication machinery.
Produce bespoke stone products, including kitchen worktops, vanity tops, integrated and bespoke sinks, splashbacks, wall cladding and architectural features.
Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, templates and production specifications accurately.
Set up machines, select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters, and optimise machining processes for different materials.
Carry out intricate cut-outs, drainage grooves, mitred edges, edge profiling, joint preparation and detailed finishing work.
Fabricate complex and precision-engineered stone components to tight tolerances.
Work with natural stone, quartz and large-format porcelain, understanding the specific handling and fabrication requirements of each material.
Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance with project specifications.
Identify material defects, minimise waste and maximise the efficient use of slabs.
Maintain machinery, carry out routine checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop, adhering to all relevant health and safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with management, colleagues and installation teams to meet production deadlines.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must meet all the following essential criteria:
Minimum five years' proven professional experience in stone fabrication.
Demonstrable, hands-on experience operating CNC routers and waterjet cutting machines.
Experience programming, setting up and operating CNC machinery, including the ability to interpret CAD drawings or digital production files.
Proven experience using advanced stone fabrication machinery, such as bridge saws, CNC machining centres and automated polishing equipment.
Strong technical knowledge of natural stone, quartz and porcelain fabrication.
Experience manufacturing bespoke worktops, sinks and other detailed stone products.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, work from precise measurements and maintain tight tolerances.
Excellent practical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently, manage workloads and meet demanding production schedules.
A strong understanding of workshop safety and the safe operation of industrial machinery.
The legal right to work in the UK, which applicants must be able to demonstrate.
Please note that CNC router and waterjet experience is MANDATORY, not desirable. Applicants without practical experience operating both types of machinery will not meet the requirements for this position.
Desirable Additional Skills
Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC toolpath preparation.
Experience fabricating bespoke and integrated stone sinks.
Advanced porcelain fabrication, including large-format slabs.
Experience with bookmatching, complex mitred edges and intricate architectural detailing.
Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and optimise cutting programmes.
