This snug was a joy to bring to life in CGI. The layered red patterns, tonal variation, and depth of texture were carefully balanced to create warmth, intimacy, and a sense of quiet richness.

As an design, this project was especially rewarding. Rendering allowed the space to be fully realised, not just visually, but atmospherically, from how light settles on patterned services to how materials interact across the room.

This is where CGI comes into its own, translating concept into some tangible and emotive, allowing the design to be experienced long before it exists physically.

If you’re looking to visualise a space, concept, or interior with clarity in depth, get in touch to discuss CGI rendering services - I’d love to hear from you. DM or link in bio.

A little update on where things are heading…

The design landscape has shifted a lot this year, especially with AI reshaping the early concept stages. It’s made me reflect on how I want my creative work to evolve, and how to keep everything focused and intentional.

One thing I want to say from the start, Studio Ercra remains dedicated to CGI and visualisation. This continues to be the core of my work for Interior Designers, Developers, and Product Designers and that isn’t changing.

But there’s another side of my studio that has been quietly growing, shaped by my background in Design for Performance, my Interior design training, and 16 years working within the Interior industry. It felt like the right moment to give that part of my work a home of its own.

And so I’m introducing Atelier Ercra.
A dedicated space for the design led side of my practice, a place to explore colour, materiality and atmosphere.

Atelier Ercra focuses on:
~ Thoughtful colour consultancy
~ Concept driven creative direction
~ Palette, material and styling guidance
~ CGI supported visual storytelling.

It sits at the conceptual, early phase of shaping a space, offering clarity direction before implementation begins rather than a full interior design service.

With Studio Ercra and Atelier Ercra now side-by-side, each brand has a space to do what it does best:
~ Studio Ercra through CGI visual storytelling
~ Atelier Ercra through colour concept and crafted design thinking.

If you’d like to follow the Interiors and Design journey, I’d love to have you at

And thank you for continuing to support Studio Ercra, your support generally means so much. I’m excited for the next chapter.

Riverside Apartment Part 4 Bedroom: When we first started redesigning our apartment, this was the direction: fully bespoke cabinetry, a warm layered palette, and luxurious detailing throughout.

The brief, as always, was storage (because new builds never seem to have enough) but to make it feel elevated and serene. Every wall was used for a reason, built in wardrobes, hidden drawers, and soft integrated lighting to make a small room feel calm, not cramped.

This was the ‘if we were staying longer and the property market was stronger’ version, a design that made sense for long-term investment.

Creating this CGI was invaluable. It allowed us to experiment with tone, texture, and proportion, and to see how each detail would affect the overall feel before spending a single penny.

Next post is how we reworked the design to make it achievable – without losing that sense of luxury.

Riverside Apartment Part 5 Bedroom: When we realised a full bespoke build wasn’t practical, we reworked the concept to get as close as possible within budget and this was the result.

We used Metod kitchen cabinets to create the storage wall, adapting them for a bedroom layout. Because they’re shallow than wardrobes we gained valuable floor space while still achieving that built-in look.

Some clever detailing help disguise their origins – the visible underside of the cabinets above the bed was wrapped in faux leather with brass studs, and the tops were finished with white glass, cut to size to sit seamlessly on top.

Rechargeable wall lights where added and LED strip lighting behind the bed soften the space giving ambient light without harsh overhead spots.

This is where CGI becomes such a powerful design tool, it helps us rework the layout, materials, and lighting to test how these adjustments would still feel cohesive balance and inviting.

See the next post to see the original and final design side-by-side plus some real life progress shots.

Riverside Apartment Part 6 Bedroom: From concept to reality side by side.

The first image shows our concept design, and below is the final design of our bedroom. Seeing both together really shows how flexible design can be and why 3D visualisation is such a vital step. The space evolved not just because of budget, but through problem-solving; how to make something feel high-end without the high-end price tag.

By modelling the room in CGI, we could test how light, texture, and materials would behave in the real space, helping us to make smarter decisions before committing to anything physical.

And finally, a few in progress shots. Not perfectly styled (yet!) but a glimpse at how the render is coming to life.

Riverside Apartment Part 1: A personal project - our apartment.

It’s a one bedroom flat that my husband and I have lived in for eight years and until recently, we hadn’t done a thing to it. (Swipe to the end for the before).

When we first moved in, we spent ages sorting out snagging. Then came the “we’ll move soon” phase which for various reasons, never quite happened. So after nearly a decade of living in what felt like a rental, we finally decided to make it feel like home.

This was our first concept design. The brief was simple: STORAGE (why, oh why don’t new builds ever have enough storage space?!) but make it feel luxurious. It’s a small openplan space that has to do it all: living room, study, dining and kitchen, so the palette was kept neutral and calm to avoid feeling busy or small.

What’s been invaluable in this process is using 3D renderings, particularly for my husband to see what I was thinking for the space. It lets us test ideas, play with materials and proportions and see how light interacts with every surface, all before spending a single penny. It’s one of the biggest advantages of CGI, turning imagination into something tangible, so every decision is intentional.

Once we got the quotes in (and looked at the current housing market in london), we realised we wouldn’t see that investment back, so it was back to the drawing board….

Riverside Apartment Part 2: The first version was beautiful but it just didn’t make sense budget wise, especially knowing we won’t be here for too much longer. We still wanted that sense of calm luxury, just achieved in a more practical way.

While I’d always prefer working with joiners and craftspeople, this time we turned to for the main storage wall and asked Tom at to create the bespoke black desk unit. Adding LED lighting inside the cabinets completely transformed the space, bringing warmth and depth.

Seeing the two renders side by side really shows how powerful 3D visualisation can be. You can test layouts, materials and finishes early on, and find clever ways to achieve the look you want at any budget.

Riverside Apartment Part 3: Still a few finishing touches to go - a bit of styling, some accessories, and the professional shots but I couldn’t wait to share how it’s coming together.

It’s always amazing seeing the CGI vision start to take shape in real life. The renders help refine every detail, but nothing beats the moment you see the actual textures and light in person.
