Cosmic baby! Now up in my shop, the 'Comet' mandala is a handmade dreamcatcher-style wall hanging crocheted from a mix of new and vintage yarn, with silver stars in her tail.
Overall size 6" (15cm) wide by 14" (35cm) long.

I'm feeling a little wistful about the end of summer, but the prospect of autumn colours makes the transition a lot easier. We have lots of Field Maple in the country park, and their autumn leaves sing with such beautiful colours, starting with starry bright yellows before turning into vivid oranges and reds. This little leaf seems to have got a head start.
Music is in the heart of the maple tree - the wood was traditionally used to make harps. The famous Sutton Hoo burial in Suffolk contained the remains of a maplewood lyre, wrapped in a sealskin bag. How magical is that? 🧡

Carving drum sticks for new Wild Women beaters for the shop, whilst listening to 's Facebook Live - affectionately nicknamed 'Drum QVC'* 😂
I was gifted oak and hawthorn for these sticks, and oak has been particularly forward recently. The beaters will be birthed at Lammas/ Lughnasad, so it will be interesting to see what harvest energies will be woven into them. 🥰🌼

Made some cute little 'The Hare Jumped Over The Moon' labels to stitch onto the dust bags for my crochet mandala drum bags. I think I'm getting the hang of this branding lark! 😊
My shop* with the first mandala drum bags was launched nearly 2.5 years ago, and it's been a long and enjoyable (if sometimes frustrating!) process designing all the things that go with my crochet creations.
I think I'm approaching being happy with all the packaging, graphics, and literature now. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but it genuinely gives me joy to have everything 'just so' - even down to the right kind of parcel paper to wrap things in. I hope I can pass that extra bit of magic onto every wonderful person who has commissioned or bought something from me, too. 🥰💫

Crochet Sunday vibes completing a mandala bag for its new drum! This particular 'Summer Fern' mandala has had a long journey between commission and completion and it's an honour to be stitching in the last bit of fern magic on a Capricorn full Buck moon.
The bags I create are always birthed on a particular full or new moon and come into being at exactly the right moment to energetically resonate with the drum they're destined for. I realised quite a long time ago that I don't have a lot of say in it! That's the real beauty and joy of shamanic work, that it's guided by spirit and love. 🥰

Cuppa Rosie Lee? I had a sudden yen to make some crochet flowers. I think I'm gonna have a go at making myself a floral headdress just for fun, but I need some daisies and a few more roses and bluebells. Might even try and fit a few mini mandalas in somehow...
