The colour I think more people should be using in their bedrooms?

Blue.

From Cornflower to Cerulean, hazy Doves to soft seafoam blues, there’s a psychological reason beyond just how beautiful it looks…

Colour affects us far more deeply than we often give it credit for. Blue tones are proven to calm the heart rate and ease the nervous system, perfect for a restful bedroom. And if you slide towards the green family with some sagey undertones, you introduce that quiet connection to the natural world that makes a space feel instinctively calm and grounding.

Blue is one of those colours that the mind and body just respond to. It also behaves wonderfully throughout the day. Fresh and clear in the morning light, warmer and more enveloping as the evening comes in.

Plus- contrary to popular belief- blue is not a cold or stark colour if you layer and tone it correctly. It’s gentle and enveloping, making a room feel more serene and alive, rather than cold or stark.

The kitchen at our Chelsea townhouse📍The kitchen in this 5 storey townhouse property was actually on the lower ground floor with very limited natural light, so we kept the colour palette light and airy with gorgeous off-whites, ivorys, taupes and neutral tones to brighten the space.

With all this beautiful warm weather we’re having in the UK, I can’t help but reminisce on our Scotland project 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 This property had the most spectacular, mature grounds and every window of the home gazed out onto beautiful nature just beyond its windows.

This beautiful scenery inspired much of the interior rationale, with soft greens, organic materiality and nature motifs naturally making their way into the home.

There’s something incredibly dramatic about lighting that cascades down a stairwell with a beautifully soft and atmospheric glow.

With the .living Estate staircase pendant, I wanted to create a sense of grandeur, a piece that waterfalls down effortlessly, illuminating the architecture whilst adding warmth, depth and elegance to the entryway.

The interplay between the clear reeded glass and the inner champagne-toned dome was especially important to get right; it creates a refined layering of texture and light, giving the installation a depth and richness that feels layered yet understated. We went many rounds of development to perfect this tonal contrast and get it just right.

Paired with delicate chains and antique brass detailing, the overall effect is just so sculptural and serene. This piece was designed to celebrate scale without overpowering a space, Estate brings a feeling of opulence that’s also calm and considered ✨

The formal living room that starts conversations. This drawing room at our Surrey family home project was designed around one purpose: to bring people together and make them want to stay.

Panelled walls in a soft, warm neutral set the architectural tone- classic, considered and quietly grand. A statement tiered chandelier anchors the ceiling with real presence, while a pair of sculptural mauve accent chairs introduce just enough colour and personality to keep it from feeling flat or depthless.

The balance of symmetry and softness is what makes this room work. Formal enough to impress, but enough to live in.

Soft, whimsical and calming 🎀 This girls’ bedroom and ensuite at our Scotland family home was designed with every detail considered, from the architecture down to the finishing touches.

In the bedroom, .living Fawn Tint paint sets a calm, warm neutral backdrop- understated enough to let the decorative arched panelling and bow-pattern wallpaper inset take centre stage, adding just the right note of playful femininity that can stay with her as she gets older.

Through to the bathroom, our LHL Blush Tint paint brings a gentle rosy warmth to the walls, catching the natural light beautifully alongside Bianco Rhino marble, mosaic flooring, a scalloped-edge mirror and floral sconces.

This sweet sanctuary was such a special one to create 🤍

My personal favourite .living paint & wallpaper pairing we use in our projects, the perfect base for any luxury home.

Ideal for bringing warmth to darker or north-facing rooms, Linen Mist contains gentle pink/ beige undertones, counteracting cool light and preventing any coldness or starkness. Yet, still remaining beautifully neutral.

The Sable wallpaper in Linen is a textured vinyl wallpaper. Unlike many luxury wallpapers, it is also wipeable and washable, which is ideal for high-traffic family areas.

Our textured wallpapers can be inset into panelling or used across entire walls, perfect when paired alongside our corresponding paint colours, making colour selection and decorating sublimely simple.
