Combining old and new obsessions. I’ve been fascinated with leno weave since my college days, and in recent years I’ve loved playing with paper yarn. The twist in the leno paper warp seems to throw the weft yarn out, resulting in all kinds of interesting movement. Now I just need a space to hang this four-metre piece as I can’t bear to cut it into smaller parts.

Day 6 of . Spending the day updating my website, and I’ve realised I’m out of handwoven scarves. This was one of my favourite collections I’ve ever made, and now I’m wondering whether I should create some new pieces. There’s something freeing about weaving a simple warp with whatever yarns you have to hand and seeing what emerges.

Day 5 of  . Noticing is key to staying inspired, and it’s hard to keep noticing when you get stuck in your routine. I’m grateful to have a few days away from daily life to start seeing again. Thank you

Day 4 of  , almost a month later. These 100 days might take me a while. My wall from the recent retreat. I had a wonderful three days at , working, playing, and laughing. The food and company were incredible, and I’ve come home fizzing with ideas.

Day 3 of . I’m a bit obsessed by these bits of masking tape left over from recent printing experiments. I’m yet to figure out a way to seal them and stop them from smudging, but they are filling my sketchbooks.

Day 1 of . I’ll be posting here everyday(ish), in a very low key way with the aim of turning my feed back into a record.

This is a woven Leno piece, dipped in plaster and then printed, using Ink Aid.

Fresh off the loom last night and impossible to photograph properly. I’ve been weaving this huck lace warp in paper yarns as a base for printing, and I’m curious to see what happens with cyanotype too. Back in weaving geek heaven.

I’ve been working through the course on for the past few months, and something clicked today. Now I’m trying to figure out what comes next. My original intention was to use the technique for printing and then quilting, but I’m not sure how well the resulting fabric will handle it. Plenty of testing and experimenting ahead though.
