Can we just appreciate that this place actually exists? 🌴☀️😍
I feel so lucky to have spent some time here in the past year for work. The design at is hugely inspired by 1960s and 70s Palm Springs and the exterior in particular brings to mind the iconic Palm Springs photography of Slim Aarons
These are some of my fave features:
🟡The circular setup of the bright yellow loungers mirrors Loomis Dean’s famous 1961 Pinwheel photograph for LIFE Magazine, shot poolside in Palm Springs.
🍸The pops of yellow, retro pool furniture, and swirly metalwork are reminiscent of the glamourous Kaufmann Desert Pool House famously photographed by Slim Aarons throughout the 60s and 70s
🛸 Architect Matti Suuronen’s legendary 1968 UFO design wasn't in Palm Springs originally, but it became a staple of space-age architecture.
Swipe for the pink one at Los Felices which is a miniature reproduction used as a green room for live events (how cool is that?!)followed by the best vintage photo I could find a classic 1970s shot of an original Futuro house sitting in Golden Bay, New Zealand.
