WHY ARE WE WEAVING?

Because in Peru, textiles have always been more than something to wear. They have carried identity, memory, belief and belonging across generations. The history is not only in the finished cloth, but in the knowledge of how it is made.

These tapestries come from the same place as our garments: a fascination with fabric, colour, texture and the time held in a handmade object. Designed by me for and woven by Tejiendo Esperanza🧶🪡 in Ancash, they connect our work today with a textile tradition that continues to live and evolve.

We believe design is more than appearance. It is also about what we choose to value, preserve and carry forward.

For now, we’re sharing fragments. The tapestries are still in progress, and when they are ready, we hope to share them in full :) as a small continuation of a much longer history.

Our Piropos are made a little differently.

We work in small batches, with each bag made and finished one at a time in Peru. Rather than producing large quantities and holding excess stock, we open pre-orders when a batch sells through.

It means you might have to wait a little longer, usually up to 3 business weeks, but it also means we can keep making thoughtfully, at a scale that makes sense for us and for the people we work with.

Some arrive sooner, and some colours are available immediately. We’ll always let you know.

Thank you for being patient with us as we grow, while keeping the way we make our Piropos close to what they’ve always been.
