A beautifully crafted expression of Victorian naturalism, these antique diamond flower earrings are designed as blossoming floral clusters, capturing the elegance and romance of the late 19th century. Meticulously hand-crafted in silver and gold, each petal is formed from old-cut diamonds arranged to create exceptional light and movement, while the openwork construction allows the stones to sparkle from every angle.

Oscar Heyman Brothers Diamond and Ruby Cluster Ring, American, circa 1970.

Known as “The Jewellers’ Jeweller,” Oscar Heyman & Brothers set the benchmark for technical excellence in twentieth-century jewellery manufacture. This platinum cluster ring centres on a 2.52ct old-cut diamond, surrounded by a precisely calibrated arrangement of tapered baguette-cut rubies, each individually matched for colour, proportion, and alignment.

The seamless geometry of the setting, the exacting stone calibration, and the refined platinum workmanship demonstrate the level of precision for which Oscar Heyman became renowned. Designed to achieve both structural integrity and visual harmony, it is a compelling example of the firm’s ability to unite engineering and artistry in a single jewel.

Brown diamonds are among nature’s most fascinating coloured diamonds, displaying an extraordinary range of hues, tones and saturations.

Their colour can range from delicate champagne and honey shades to rich cognac, chocolate and deep coffee tones. In gemmological terms, they may occur as Fancy Light Brown, Fancy Brown, Fancy Dark Brown and Fancy Deep Brown, often exhibiting secondary modifiers of yellow, orange or pink.

Unlike colourless diamonds, brown diamonds derive their distinctive appearance from structural distortions within the crystal lattice, creating a warmth and depth unique to each stone.

A captivating category within the world of natural coloured diamonds, celebrated for its individuality, rarity and understated elegance.

Suzanne Belperron old mine-cut diamond ring, France, 1970–1974.

At its centre sits a remarkable 4.86-carat old mine-cut diamond, prized for its soft, romantic brilliance and distinctive antique character.

The diamond is set within one of Belperron’s signature sculptural mounts, crafted in yellow gold and platinum with a richly textured hammered finish.

This hand-worked surface creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow, enhancing the ring’s bold architectural form while celebrating the designer’s mastery of volume and texture.

A powerful yet elegant jewel from one of the 20th century’s most influential jewellery designers.

Ceylon sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring, circa 1920.

A recent equities into the collection. At its centre, a richly coloured Ceylon sapphire displays the luminous blue for which stones from Sri Lanka are so admired. Its vivid colour is beautifully enhanced by the surrounding diamonds, arranged in a coronet-style cluster that gives the ring height, structure and radiance.

Crafted in platinum, the design reveals remarkable attention to detail beyond the face of the ring. The intricately pierced scrolling gallery adds depth, movement and refinement, while fine milgrain edging brings a crisp, beaded finish to the setting, emphasising the delicacy of the early 20th century craftsmanship.

6.25 Carat Old Mine Diamond Two Stone Ring, circa 1910.

An exceptional example of early 20th century platinum work, featuring finely executed millegrain edging and a pierced openwork gallery entirely crafted by hand. These details were not decorative afterthoughts — they reflect the technical precision of Edwardian jewellers working at a time when platinum had only recently become viable for jewellery making.

The delicacy of the openwork allows light to pass through the stones and mounting alike, giving the ring an architectural lightness that modern cast manufacture simply cannot achieve. Under magnification, the hand-applied millegrain reveals the subtle irregularities that distinguish true period workmanship from contemporary reproduction.

Set with old mine cut diamonds whose proportions predate standardised modern cutting, the ring retains the softer, more atmospheric scintillation characteristic of antique stones.

What should you consider when buying an emerald?

In this video, our in-house gemmologist explores the four most important factors to understand when selecting an emerald: colour, clarity, origin and treatments. From the depth and saturation of the green hue, to the naturally occurring inclusions that make each stone unique, emeralds are among the most fascinating gemstones in the world.

We also discuss common enhancement treatments and why transparency around them is essential when assessing quality and value. Whether you are investing in your first emerald or expanding a fine jewellery collection, understanding these characteristics is key to choosing a truly exceptional stone.

A masterclass in floral jewellery design by Oscar Heyman & Brothers. This extraordinary pansy ring, crafted in the 1940s, captures the romance of spring in vivid amethysts, pink tourmalines, yellow diamonds and brilliant-cut diamonds, all meticulously arranged into softly curving petals.

With Chelsea Flower Show inspiring London’s love affair with blooms once again, this piece feels especially timeless, not simply floral in motif, but botanical in craftsmanship. Every detail, from the pierced openwork gallery to the sculptural setting, reflects why Oscar Heyman became known as the “jeweller’s jeweller”. A true wearable work of art.

An exceptionally early interpretation of Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra motif, created in France circa 1945, decades before the design achieved its later global prominence. Set with calibré-cut rubies and brilliant-cut diamonds, the ring illustrates the maison’s early exploration of the quatrefoil form and geometric floral abstraction that would ultimately crystallise into one of the most recognisable motifs in twentieth-century jewellery design. A rare and important precursor to the Alhambra legacy.
