🍇BLACKBERRY (Rubus Fruticosus)
🍃The plant’s wood was thought to be that used in Christ’s crown of thorns, and therefore the fruit was of the devil.
🪦Blackberry brambles were planted on the graves of the dead to prevent them from walking.
⛑️Medicinaly, both the Greeks and Romans treated gout.
⛑️The roots allegedly broke the kidney stones, while the leaves could make a lotion for the mouth or “secret parts”.
⛑️Blackberry vinegar was a country medicine staple, a good cure-all for sore throat, cough and chest ailment.

🌱Black Hellebore ( helleborus niger) - native to southern and Central Europe
🍃A powerful emetic, it is potentially fatal if ingested.
If the corect rituals were performed, however, animals would be protected from evil spirits - and flies - if garlanded with hellebore.
⛑️It’s main medicinal use was as purgative, to induce vomiting after poisoning or eating bad food.
🇬🇧It was still taken in 18th century Britain.

🌿As I start my journey into polishing my knowledge on herbal usage and holistic healing, first plant I’m learning about is , also called “the insane root”.
☘️The plant was said to be hallucinogenic , used in flying ointment and profoundly poisonous charms.
It is ruled by planet Saturn.
🌱Ancient medicine suggests roasting the root and applying to the hands to soothe gout and inflammation.
❗️The plant is NOT EDIBLE.

🐝I finally have the courage to create a page, where I can share my hobby and passion for illustrations and wall murals.
🌱I’m super passionate about plants, traditional medicine, holistic healing and magical herbs.
🌿You will see, most of my art is about plants and nature corners, but I also try to make it a little bit educational, so every plant I draw it’s coming with some fun facts as well.
