Summer for me has been about eating, cooking and sharing - long meals with my family, lively meals with friends, and even calm meals alone (mostly breakfast when the kids were still sleeping!)

So goodby summer, until we meet again next year, I'll be dreaming about plump tomatoes in vibrant colours, flaky buttery French pastry, salty oysters and seeing happy faces around the table.

Au revoir 🇫🇷

Another summer in our beautiful French village. This year, the smoke and fumes from the fires near Bordeaux have drifted all the way to us from 450km away. A powerful reminder of how fragile life is.

I'm taking this as a sign to read a book in the sunshine without feeling guilty, say yes to every invitation and dance at the village fête!

Wishing you a beautiful summer. I'll be filling my feed with the abundance of deliciously colourful food!

Wednesday night at Heal's, 'Celebrating Scandinavian Design' brought together four brilliant panelists - Christian Andresen (), (), Ross Dickens (gubiofficial) and () - for a conversation that went well beyond aesthetics.

This is why great design matters.

Last Sunday it was already 3pm by the time I disentangled myself from the kids, hopped on the tube and headed over to the final day of the Hyakkō exhibition at . With tickets sold out, I decided to take a chance.

And I'm so glad that I did.

It was inspiring going behind the scenes to see how objects, which look so simple, require so much patience, skill and dedication to achieve the final result.

The slowness and ritual of the process struck me the most and felt like an antidote to our busy, rushed world.

So next time you think you've missed the opportunity, hop on that tube and take a chance. You never know what you might find!

Oh, and Japanese toilets are a must-try!

I spent this morning with planning something I've wanted to do for a while - my very first supper club. It felt like we'd been doing this together for years. Two generations between us, but the same obsession with beautiful tableware and good food. A stroll through Brompton Cemetery was a lovely end to an inspiring morning.
