**2016 vs 2026**

I’m a little late to the 2016 post party, but only because it made me realise how far we’ve come. The last few years have been tough, but somehow we’ve emerged hopeful and excited about the future. 🙌

“In the end, it was never about the picture.
It was always about home.
And it was always about love.” ❤️🐾

If you are going through something similar, please know that you are not alone. I’m always here and my DMs are open. 🫂

Sending love to you all, thank you for being here and supporting us. ❤️

ad Bedding Refresh 🤍😴

If you’ve seen my stories this week, you’ll know that we’ve just got back from a holiday in Cape Town.

I love coming home to my own bed – but coming home to gorgeous new bedding is even better. I’m so glad we planned this little upgrade 🥰

I’ve always loved how cosy linen bedding looks and can now confirm that it’s just as cosy to sleep on.

The neutral stripes paired with a patterned throw is the perfect addition to our bedroom. All thanks to 🙌

What do you think?

Bedding Details:
Bedding Set – Natural Sid Stripe 100% Linen
Throw – Ellie 100% Cotton Quilted Throw
Cushions – Natural Porto Cotton Linen Cushion Covers

If you have any questions about this space, pop them comments.

Hope you have a fab day!

The bows of Christmas past 🎀

Sharing last year’s Christmas decs again because I needed some festive inspo to get me in the mood to decorate this year.

I’ll start with the mantel in the living room today and will be sharing a really sweet giveaway tomorrow morning 😊

I think I’m going to go for similar looks featuring my large velvet bows from in the hallway and dining room again too. Or should I change it up a bit. What do you think?

Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for the giveaway, it’s a good one ❤️

Always happy to answer any questions you have in the comments too.

Hello December 🎄🎁

Full disclosure, I haven’t actually had a chance to put up my decorations yet. This is from from last year and I loved it so much I’ll be doing the exact same this year. If only a quick honk of the horn was all I had to do to make it happen 🤣

When do you normally put your decs up? Is mid December too late?

Hope you all have a great start to the week (and the month). 😘

✨ KITCHEN RENO COSTS ✨

We did this reno in 2022 and it cost more than we expected. We saved by doing the finishing touches, painting and joinery ourselves — but the total was still £52,976.50 😳

BUILDERS – £23,000
Included structural engineer, chimney breast removal, joists / ceiling repairs, fitted the kitchen, plumbing, electrics, structural work for bifolds, steels, plastering, floor levelling, underfloor heating, tiling and extra fixes. They took the project to 80%; Chris and I did the rest.

CABINETRY – £11,597.58
Chilcomb Paintable kitchen – solid timber with shaker doors. We chose Porcelain as it was the closest to our final colour. Included cabinetry, integrated bins, washing machine, tumble dryer and extractor fan. We kept our old dishwasher, fridge-freezer and broke even by selling our old cooker and buying pre-loved.

PAINT – £0
We worked with (adpr), who supplied all the paint for this project. 🙌 We lightly sanded the cabinetry, then sprayed one coat of primer and two coats of Skimming Stone Modern Eggshell (a third in some areas) using our Wagner paint sprayer. It took about three weekends and we used a gazebo in the garden as a spray booth.

BIFOLDS & WINDOW – £5,688
doors & window near sink, fitted by .

POCKET DOOR – £420
Reeded glass door (£230) & sliding pocket door kit (£190).

WORKTOPS – £5,118.48
Layalite quartz.
We had to buy two slabs because we were slightly over on measurements, but have used the extra offcuts for the shelving and outdoor bar.

SINK & TAPS – £2,416.06
&

JOINERY – £0
We used bits of our old kitchen and left over materials from the builders / old projects to do the joinery for the banquette seating, shelving and coat rack.

OTHER COSTS
Sockets & switches – £45
Brass hardware – £350
Skirting – £285.52
Floor tiles – £1,569.20
Wall tiles – £1,766.24
Lighting – £420.42
Portaloo (for trades) – £300

TOTAL: £52,976.50

If you’re planning a renovation, save this post for later! I’m always happy to answer questions in the comments✨

Size matters 📏✨

Since extending our kitchen wasn’t an option, every single millimetre has been made to work hard. We had to get really clever with how we used the space and didn’t want to compromise on the things we love. So instead of scrimping, we focused on smart choices and thoughtful design. From storage solutions to layout tricks, every decision was about making the most of what we had. The kitchen cabinets and drawers are all standard Howden’s sizes but there are lots of bespoke additions too.

I’ve measured the areas and items that I get asked about regularly so this might be a good one to save if you find it useful.

Have I missed anything? Pop it in the comments and I’ll get back to you.

Have a fab day 😊

Today is an exciting day!
I’m heading to the Home Awards and I’m so honoured to be a finalist in not one, but TWO categories — Best Garden and Best Kitchen. A huge thanks again for your votes, it means the world ❤️

Sharing a mix of my favourite stills of both spaces – some new and some old. The view of the garden from our kitchen is my favourite thing about our home and bringing the outside in was the brief I set myself when designing it.

I can’t wait to celebrate, meet some amazing people and cheer on all the other incredible nominees. Wishing everyone the very best of luck — it’s such an inspiring group to be part of! 💫

I’d also like to thank the sponsors – Best Kitchen is sponsored by and Best Garden is sponsored by . 🙌

As always, if you have any questions about anything in these photos, please drop them in the comments – I always reply. Have a fab day 😊

National Pet Day 🐶🤍🐶

Oh Louie and Jasper, we love our rescue boys – who have actually rescued us. They fill our life with so much joy and have kept us going through some of the toughest times. Dogs really are just made of pure love aren’t they?

Exactly 2yrs ago today I was at the hospital for surgery to have my breast cancer removed. When I got home these two never left my side and I don’t think I would be as strong as I feel today without them. ❤️

Here’s to all the wonderful pets around the world. Give them some extra cuddles and treats today, they deserve it!
