Uncovering hidden gems in Athens! I stumbled upon this incredible set of vintage photographs.
The first three pics show a Greek rowing team from an era when cameras were a rarity, especially on boats! What attracted me on this was the main photo is a work of art with a bit of homoeroticism ..!
The next set is just too adorable - a young boy surrounded by watermelons!
And then there's the last photo of two soldiers... it seems ordinary until you read the soldier's note on the back: 'DON'T SHOW IT TO DAD'! I'm dying to know what he's hiding 😝 Can you guess..?

An exquisite and extremely rare bed by the italian 1940s art deco designer Guglielmo Ulrich produced by Valzania in book-matching burl/bird eye maple wood and black ridged feet.

This documented import of a king size bed has a grand and very glamours design with the headboard pointed curves giving a throne like elegance. The book-matching details have been done masterfully and that can be seen on the back of the headboard with strips of veneer.

This bed is a fine example of the lustrous glamour of late 1940s Art Deco European design. A piece that can still be used and cherished in a modern bedroom home if accessorised right.
The same model in parchment is seen in the original brochure and magazine advertisements of the times. .
