Alessandro Isola

Alessandro Isola Alessandro Isola Architectural and Interior Design Studio. Made in Italy. Designed in London. You will find him wearing black and a scarf. Always.

Drinking espresso and being 'Italian'. Drawing inspiration from life experiences of successful dancer, a theatre actor and a policemen. What do they have to do with design? To him everything. The awareness of space, the acknowledgment of gesture, the patience to understand a situation and most importantly to listen to the heart of the subject. His style is not to have a style. Everything is tailor

ed to a specific client and to a specific site. To him Style is an invention of the insecure.

''I go to a concert and I observe people pattern and behaviour before listening to the music. I go to a dance show and I look at the costume’s before enjoying the dance. I go to a bar and I touch the counter before ordering a drink. I enter an art gallery and look at the lighting before admiring the art. I enter a house and I feel the atmosphere before greeting the host. Every gesture, every movement, the way we hold a glass or grab a fork. The way we dress, the way we behave, this is all a story that only needs to be read and translated into our living environment.''

A drop, held in stone.
Design by

A sink shaped like a drop of water, frozen in stone.
Carved from a single block of marble, capturing the fleeting movement of water and giving it form.

Folded Gravity — A Surface Suspended
Stumble Upon Console design by

Like a hanging rug caught mid-motion, the metal bends — forming a precise fold that becomes structure.
This wall-mounted console exists between two states:suspended and grounded, soft in gesture, yet rigid in matter.
The fold is no longer a flaw, but the moment where function begins.
What hangs becomes support. What bends becomes purpose.

NOT A WALL.
A surface that filters, reveals, and transforms.

It opens, rotates, disappears.
What was solid becomes permeable.
What was hidden becomes visible.

A wall becomes a threshold.
A threshold becomes a space.
A space becomes something else.

Storage.
Living.
Connection.

One element.
Multiple states.

Nothing is fixed.
Everything is discovered.

WE DIDN’T DESIGN A KITCHEN.
WE GAVE FORM TO A MEMORY.

A child at the table.
Homework open.
Someone cooking nearby.

Steam in the air.
Soft sounds.
A glance, every now and then.

Nothing special.
Everything essential.

GENESI starts here.

Not a kitchen with a table —
a table that generates everything.

Cooking, working, living, gathering.
One continuous gesture.

Not to be shown.
To be lived.

Nothing else is needed.

A seat or a sculpture?
What do you see?

Stumbled Upon Seat
A folded steel.
Becoming structure. Becoming object. Becoming pause.

A gesture rather than a function —
between furniture and sculpture, where tension becomes presence.
An accidental encounter between form and necessity.

Stillness in the desert.
Design by

A bedroom that dissolves into a pool.
No noise. No excess. Just light, water, and space.

This is not a room.
It’s a pause.

Symbiotic Vase II

Dual Form

Two vessels. One gesture.
Parametric study translated into matter.
Designed, printed, and assembled as a single intersecting form—yet able to separate into two independent pieces.

Stumble Upon — A Fold, Reimagined

An accident, redefined.
We’ve all stumbled on a folded rug — a small, almost insignificant disruption.
Stumble Upon Coffee Table transforms that fleeting moment into a sculptural presence, freezing it in time and giving it purpose.
The lifted corner reveals a duality:a soft, tactile surface above,a precise, reflective plane beneath.
