Stamperia Bertozzi translates its heritage textile printing technique onto Limoges porcelain, using hand-carved pear-wood blocks to impress each design. The Giardino motif – a detailed interplay of ivy vines and rose stems – is layered in two distinct shades of green, mirroring the botanical patterns found on our pure linen tablecloths.

The collection brings a deliberate continuity to the table, where fabric and ceramic share the exact same artisanal origin.

What began as heavy h**p loomed by hand in mid-century Italy is now a collection of towels and table runners.

We source these unused rolls at antique textile fairs and markets across Northern Italy. Together with Stamperia Bertozzi, we select traditional regional motifs and hand-mixed mineral pigments to match the 75-year-old origin of the weave, which the artisans then hand-print onto the cloth.

The result pairs a light-blue band with a traditional woodblock spiral frame element, giving the Grace pure linen bath towel a balanced, Mediterranean layout.

When we visit Stamperia Bertozzi, we spend hours browsing their archive of wooden stamps - it informs so much of our work. It was on one of those afternoons that we uncovered the original Ellisse woodblock, dating back to 1935.

We began sketching how to arrange the motif on pure linen bath towels, ultimately deciding to double-stamp the pattern. This overlapping technique gives the print a natural, living quality, bringing original geometry into a modern layout.

The Ellisse collection has been a part of AIIÓRA for years, but we never tire of seeing it printed. Today, the towels are available in several hand-printed colours, including myrtle green and mustard yellow.
