Element One House is an e-furniture boutique created by Interior Stylist, Margaret Bourke and TV Presenter and Stylist, Jordana Ashkenazi. When decorating and styling Jordana’s new home, we struggled to find pieces of unique and stylish furniture at the right price both in stores and on-line. We would scour the internet and head out on shopping expeditions only to return empty handed. The only option being to pay a King’s ransom for a piece of furniture which would mean the rest of Jordana’s house would be bare! So we put our heads together and decided to do what we love…shopping!! The Element One House e-furniture boutique felt like a natural progression. We love to do the hunting for you to provide you with the latest furniture trends at affordable prices. We believe that everyone should be able to afford a bit of style in their home so you can be proud of your home with the individual pieces from our exciting range. Warm, rich and cocooning. A deeper, more seductive scent made for cosy evenings, curling up by the fire, soft lighting and closing the door on the outside world.

That wonderful feeling of being home, feeling restful, safe and enveloped in warmth.

As an interior designer, I’ve always believed that fragrance is just as important as the way a room looks. It’s that invisible layer that creates atmosphere, changes the mood of a space and makes a house feel like a home.

CALM and EMBER are two very different scents, but both reflect how I want a home to feel. Comforting, atmospheric and personal.

With the cooler months upon us, EMBER is the perfect finishing touch to a beautiful evening in.

Beautiful on the outside. Complicated on the inside.

London is one of the most exciting cities to work in as an interior designer, but it certainly comes with its challenges.

From beautiful Victorian terraces to Georgian townhouses, behind those stunning façades often lie narrow layouts, ageing plumbing, awkward staircases, limited natural light, overlooking neighbours, listed building restrictions and structural limitations.

At Element One House, we’re very experienced in navigating these challenges. One of our specialties is making the most of London’s often tricky spaces, optimising layouts, maximising functionality and creating clever storage solutions without compromising on design.

Whether it’s bespoke joinery, reconfiguring rooms, improving the flow of a property or finding creative ways to make smaller spaces feel more generous, we carefully consider every square metre.

Our aim is always to strike the perfect balance between respecting a property’s original character and creating a beautiful, practical home that works for modern living.

London is known for its beautiful traditional British homes, and whilst we love working with period features and classic architecture, there’s also plenty of room for something more contemporary.

Clean architectural lines, natural stone, warm neutral tones and sculptural furniture can create a space that feels effortlessly sophisticated, inviting and undeniably sexy.

Soft curves, natural stone, warm plaster, aged textures and a beautifully muted palette. Calm, tactile and timeless.

Site days. One of my favourite parts of the process, even if it’s not always the glamorous bit.

You can go through sample after sample trying to match what may already be there, finding exactly the right stone, timber, colour, texture and finish, then lugging everything around a dusty building site to see how it actually works in the space.

Lighting changes everything too. We’ll look at finishes in natural daylight, warmer light and cooler light because the same stone, timber or paint colour can read completely differently depending on the conditions.

So much of interior design is in these tiny decisions. Refining, comparing, changing your mind, checking tones again and again and making sure every element works together.

It can look like a pile of tiles and finishes at the time, but this is where the design really starts to take shape. All those samples, drawings, site visits and decisions slowly come together and eventually bring the whole vision to life.

This is our South Kensington project, a building dating from 2004 that we’re completely reimagining for a new chapter.
