outdoor seating - where would you like to be sitting outside this summer?

a simple place to sit immersed in plein air, conversing with clouds and plants alike can be the epitome of great design without any of the burden of pretension and overcomplication. Good outdoor seating must be aware of all the elements at play and its relationship to everything around it, when successful it heightens the awareness of being ALIVE in a particular moment and a particular space surrounded by other living things.

beautiful Lutyens architectural interventions in a 1912 restoration of a 1400’s house. All work was once contemporary and everyone cannot help but be responding to, rebelling against or inspired by what happened in the past. I imagined him very excited to work on this house from the Tudor period which - very old but divided up into 15 little rooms during the Elizabethan era. His brief was to restore it, open it up and add modern conveniences to make a family home for a new money 42 year old retiree. He did so sensitively bringing out the original detail of the house - like a person finding their true self again later in life, only different and improved.
