Danny has over 20 years of experience using Avolites as a Lighting Operator and System Tech across festivals, concerts, touring and corporate.

Across Danny’s broad field of work, his focus is on creating creative but simple solutions. Danny uses Avolites products primarily to build custom shows in a short space of time.

Congratulations to Ethan Smith on lighting his first solo concert at the age of 14, using an Avolites’ Quartz with pre-programming on a T1!

For Ethan, having a physical desk in front of him made things much easier, as he explains here:

“I really did enjoy using the Quartz, it made things much clearer. Obviously when the desk is physically in-front of you, it does make things a lot easier. Something I did quite like was the whole macro section; I used macros basically in every performance, so they turned out to be useful. It also meant I could just have a feel of the board and learn even more. All thanks to the T1: you helped me out on this, and it made the process so much easier as it meant I could do pre-programming, etc. So thank you for sorting me out with the T1!

André Huff

Another Avo50 ambassador joins the ranks – a warm welcome to André Huff!

André is an Emmy-award-winning lighting designer, who has been using Avolites consoles for 16 years.

As well as being the owner of Limelite Design Service, which offers lighting design services and Avolites rentals in the US, Andre doubles as the Lighting and Production Designer for country music star, Martina McBride.

André regularly uses Synergy to combine media and lighting in his work, and received an Emmy for Lighting Design and Direction for the Miss Mississippi Pageant 2024.

Keep up the good work André and we look forward to seeing more of your work in the future!

Have you seen Matt Ellwood Lighting Design LaserLand?

The 18-year-old UK-based lighting technician created his own light show at home in Silloth, Cumbria, using a T3 to run a 12-minute light show outside his house.

Lasers were supplied by Fluid Productions, the live event company Matt works for, alongside Matt’s own personal lighting kit.

The short show had around 700 cues to create the dazzling display, which thoroughly impressed locals.

Is that a new D7-215?

Mexico-based lighting designer Tony Perez has invested in a new D7-215 lighting console, and has already used it for six sold-out shows, running approximately 820 lighting fixtures.

For the last 12 months, Tony has been working for two of the country’s highest-profile bands of the moment, iconic rockers Zoé and genre-blending R’n’B trio Latin Mafia.

According to Tony, “the D7 is definitely an evolution from previous Avo consoles; it has all the features and functionality, and I appreciate, above all, the compact size and portability.”

Come and see us for day 2 at ABTT Theatre Show 🎭

What a brilliant first day we had. The conversations were flowing and the buzz hasn’t stopped, we’ve loved seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and talking all things lighting and control.

A real highlight has been Rebbecca’s training sessions, with full rooms, great questions, and lots of people getting hands-on.

We’re back today and ready to go, see you there!

Are you heading to ABTT tomorrow? Here’s what you can expect from the Avolites team at the event over the next few days…

On stand A60 and in the palace suite, our team will be showcasing our consoles and software, ready to answer any questions you might have about using Avolites kit to control theatrical shows.

We also have an exciting lineup of workshops, training and talks taking place across the two days…

12.15-13.00: WORKSHOP
An Introduction to Theatre Programming
This short 45 min session with our specialist trainer Rebbecca Cadd is a great introduction to Avolites Titan software and will be specifically focused on learning how easily it is to program for a theatre style show. Places are limited to 12 per session so sign up early!

15.15 - 15.45: SEMINAR
Avo 50 and beyond...
Join the team behind Avolites as part of their 50th year celebration; to review the past and consider the demands that the future holds. You’ll have an opportunity to ask your questions to the team, too.

16.00- 17.30: TRAINING
Avolites Training
This 90 minute, hands-on training session with Rebbecca Cadd is a longer introduction to the Avolites Titan software, allowing you to learn how easy it is to program and operate a show. Places are limited to 12 per session so sign up on the day for your chance to get a place.

Thursday June 4th
10.30 -12.00: TRAINING
Avolites Training
A second chance to join Rebbecca Cadd for a 90 minute training session as a great introduction to the Avolites Titan software. Again, spaces are limited so make sure you sign up early on the day.

Are you in the competition to win the Golden Console?

If you’re on the leaderboard but not in first place, don’t forget that you don’t have to be No.1 on the board at the end of the competition to take home the console.

The top 50 with the highest number of tokens will be entered into a final draw to decide who will win our 24k gold-plated D3-010.

It’s four months until we announce the winner of the Gold Console during PLASA in London this September, which is plenty of time to earn more points.

So, keep collecting those tokens, and take a look at our competition T&Cs to make sure you’re using every opportunity you can to increase your total.
