Welcome to the Avo50 Ambassadors, Mick Murray!

Mick is a light artist and the founder of LightSculptors, creating site-specific work across public spaces, landscapes and large-scale architectural environments.

Mick has been using Avolites for 25 years, taking consoles far beyond traditional stages and venues in the process. Here are just a few incredible highlights from Mick’s varied creative career:

For Movember, Mick used Avolites control on the Cliffs of Moher to project a 250m-wide image onto the rock face.

For Flow, created with New Jackson for Body & Soul, he used Avolites Timeline to synchronise wireless Astera Titan tubes across Ballinlough Lake.

For Light Ballet, Timeline helped keep a moving light installation in sync with David Kitt’s soundtrack as the project travelled through 200km of Irish waterways.

For Mick, flexibility has been an important part of his relationship with Avolites.

The Beat-Herder Festival has grown from its free-party roots into one of the north of England’s most loved and distinctive festivals. Shout out to Dan Saveski and his shiny new D3-110.

Last month, Dan and his D3 were live at the MCG in Melbourne, supporting the NBC broadcast team as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Los Angeles Rams in front of 100,000 people.

The NFL showcase has been a huge hit in Australia, and it’s brilliant to see an Avolites user and console at the helm for such a massive event.

These compact consoles continue to punch up, and it’s always exciting to see where they end up in the wild.

An absolute pleasure to see Dan playing a part in the largest single game ever hosted in Melbourne, reaching a live global audience across 150 countries.

Great to see D7 out in Poznań for Mrozu concert at Bittersweet Music Festival.

Lighting design came from Daniel Sipowicz, with Kamil Kwatek operating the show and sharing these brilliant shots.

D7 travelled in its Peli case, ready to land on site and get straight to work - exactly the kind of tour-ready setup it was made for!

The team also used Prism for the show, adding Avolites media software into the mix alongside the lighting control.

Houghton Festival is always something special, carefully curated and bringing together some of the biggest names in electronic music. This year, the visual production across four of the festival’s most significant stages delivered a stunning visual feast, all powered by Avolites.

Super Looney Tunes came to life at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, with Lighting Designer Imasha Wijerathne using an Avolites Arena to programme the entire show with full timecode control.

Working with the Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi Entertainment Team, Imasha synchronised every lighting cue with the music, visuals and storytelling. Dynamic effects, precise timing and immersive programming helped bring energy and drama to each musical moment.

“I’m a big fan of Avolites because it gives me the freedom to turn lighting into part of the storytelling," says Imasha. "For me, it’s not just about creating big lighting moments, it’s about creating that sense of magic, where colour, movement and timing work together so naturally that the audience doesn’t even notice the transitions. Avolites gives me the control and flexibility to achieve that.”

We loved seeing the Avolites story shared with the lighting and production community across Latin America in this feature from LATAM Stage.

The article looks at how lighting, video, graphics and immersive content are increasingly coming together as part of one visual experience. One line really stood out to us, as it really captured how Avolites users are bringing Titan and Prism together to create a full show experience:

‘The modern show stopped asking: “What lights do we need?” And began asking: “What experience do we want to create?” That difference changed everything.’
