From Sketch to Final Product: Why We Chose Curiousa.
Selecting the right lighting is never just about illumination; it is about finding a piece that speaks the same language as the architecture. For this project, the Curiousa tiered pendant was the only choice that could bridge the gap between our structured design and the organic soul of the home.
The Design Rationale:
As you can see in the initial concept sketch, we were looking for a very specific silhouette-something that felt layered, rhythmic, and masterfully crafted.
The Anatomy of the Choice:
The Tiered Silhouette: We needed a piece with vertical presence. These hand-blown glass disks create a sense of movement, drawing the eye upward and echoing the staggered heights used throughout the project.
Organic Interplay: The inclusion of natural wood within the stack was vital. It grounds the glass and creates a direct tactile link to the home’s bespoke joinery and dining furniture.
Vibrant Cyan Suspension: We didn't want the technical elements hidden. The vibrant cyan braided cable acts as a deliberate "colour thread," tying the fixture directly to the oceanic blues of the artwork and soft furnishings.
Diffused Illumination: The translucent core and frosted glass ensure the light is never harsh. Instead, it provides a soft, painterly glow that transforms the atmosphere of the dining area as the day turns to evening.
In an interior where every millimetre is considered, this pendant serves as the ultimate focal point-a piece of "functional jewellery" that proves bespoke design is always worth the detail.
