A rare Victorian silver plated plaque depicting an early men's multi discipline gymnasium /sports training centre.
We often think of 'health and fitness' being a modern phenomenon but in fact these activities were very prominent in the Victorian era too. Both celebrity's and socialites were keen on being physically fit which may have had quite an influence on our modern passion for such endeavours.
