Optelma manufacture & specify Architectural Lighting solutions for U.K and international projects.

Established in Switzerland in 1955, they are now celebrating over 60 years in Lighting , boasting a comprehensive range of products and experience. We manufacture all our extruded linear systems – both standard and custom – in our dedicated UK factory in Somerset. Our Swiss factory uses its 60 years of experience in precision lighting to manufacture our high performance downlights and spotlights.

Optelma also maintains partnerships with French plaster manufacturer, Atelier Sedap – a relationship that spans more than 25 years – and Lightnet, a German manufacturer who Optelma have collaborated with for the past five years. After sales support

Our aim is to deliver your project on time, on budget and for it to look as good as the designer intended. We appreciate that sometimes there are challenges along the way to delivering a project but our after-sales team, based in our Oxfordshire head office, are available to help overcome issues along the way. Guided by our 60 years of experience, working closely with architects, designers and specifiers, our team bring your own ideas to life with minimum to no compromise from concept through to delivery. Optelma offers a lighting design service to support its own product range. This is a free service offered by our dedicated Design Team; a particularly useful facility for smaller projects where the client may not see the value of a specialist lighting design consultancy.

🚉 Reception Feature Lighting | One Station Hill, Reading

A lighting installation inspired by movement, infrastructure and place.

Located directly beside Reading Station, the reception at One Station Hill required more than a standard lighting scheme, the design needed to reflect the rhythm and geometry of the railway environment surrounding it.

Optelma Lighting delivered a fully bespoke feature lighting system using the Optelma Quad Curve Linear System. The flowing curved and straight illuminated sections recreate the visual language of railway tracks while discreetly integrating lighting, speakers, security cameras and cabling within a single architectural system.

The installation combines continuous diffused illumination, integrated 3-circuit track and high-performance accent lighting to create a striking yet comfortable reception environment.

🏆 One Station Hill has since received multiple industry awards, including the BCO National Award for Best Commercial Workplace.
