This tiny bit of nature has a palette we’d happily use in any project: Espresso, Sea Pearl, and a soft hint of Sprout Green.

Here’s how we’d use it. Espresso adds depth, so think joinery, a statement sofa or a darker feature wall. Sea Pearl is the easy, light base for walls and linens. Sprout Green brings a fresh accent through artwork, cushions and accessories.

Grounded, airy and a little unexpected. Proof that some of the best colour schemes are already out there.

A day at the at Olympia, where this year’s theme-Shaping Tomorrow: Where Innovation Meets Independent Spirit-came to life through hospitality design.

Luxury to us isn’t about adding more. It’s about knowing what to leave out.

These five boutique hotels across Africa show just how powerful thoughtful design can be. From Kisawa Sanctuary’s beautifully tactile, locally crafted interiors to Angama Mara, where the landscape becomes the hero. Villa Sahrai brings a refined Casablanca spirit to the table, proving that the most memorable spaces feel rooted in their place, rather than simply styled for a trend.

What connects them all is a strong sense of identity - considered materials, exceptional craftsmanship, and interiors that respond to their surroundings.

This was always going to be more than just a staircase. 🖤

Swipe to see this sculptural double staircase go from bare structure, through installation, to the finished reveal.

As designers, we wanted it to feel bold and dramatic, but it also needed to work beautifully in everyday life. We chose Nero Marquina quartz for its rich, marble-inspired character, along with the durability and easy maintenance needed for such a high-traffic feature.

Then came the lighting. Running beneath each tread, it highlights the sweeping curves and completely changes the mood after dark.

And the best part? The finished staircase later had a screen moment of its own in Netflix’s The Gentleman, appearing in a scene with Guz Khan.

This palette brings together the richness of Peanut Butter and Slate Black with the softness of Silver Birch, creating a balance that feels warm, calm and considered.

Our second day in Porto with Society was a real celebration of craftsmanship, creativity and the people behind it all.
We had the chance to meet talented artisans and learn more about the incredible techniques and processes that bring their work to life. There’s something so special about seeing the level of skill, patience and knowledge that goes into each piece. We even had the opportunity to try our hand at some of the hammering techniques ourselves. We may have left with a few samples, but more importantly, we left with a whole new appreciation for the craft.

To finish the experience, we enjoyed a beautiful dinner at overlooking the stunning Douro River. The interiors were every bit as impressive, with luxurious details that complemented the character and architecture of the house beautifully.

A day filled with inspiration, craftsmanship and plenty of memorable moments. ✨

Some spaces are too good to keep to ourselves!

A suite where the rock itself becomes part of the room, not just the backdrop to it. Six interior designers sharing one building, each given a floor to make entirely their own. A hillside resort you can only reach one way and that journey becomes part of the stay before you’ve even arrived.

There’s more of this coming — we’re just getting started.

Recap of Day 1 in Porto!
We started off our two-day visit to and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible craftsmanship that goes into their brands.
Visiting and seeing how their iconic hardware is made was insightful. It was fascinating to learn that many of their handles actually begin with nature itself, using real leaves, branches, bark and other natural elements as moulds before transforming them into beautifully handcrafted pieces.
It’s amazing to see how something found in nature can become such a striking design detail, and it definitely gave us a whole new appreciation for the artistry behind every piece. ✨
