🌍 YARAM FESTIVAL — THAT’S A WRAP! 🎶✨
3rd year in a row, and Afreek Art Bazaar absolutely loves being part of it! ❤️
The Yaram Arts Cultural Event really is one of a kind — celebrating culture, community and heritage in the most beautiful way. We were so happy to be there once again, and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many amazing people. 🙏🏾✨
For decades, this has been one of those special weekends that thousands of Gambians look forward to every year. It brings families, friends and communities from across the UK, Europe and beyond together to celebrate culture, enjoy themselves and, most importantly, reconnect.
Yaram Sunday in the park has become so much more than just an event.
Yaram Arts Sunday in the Park!
I a reunion ground. 💝
It has become the place to meet family, childhood friends, uncles, aunties and people you haven’t seen for years — sometimes decades.
It is priceless to now see our children, many of whom were born and raised here, looking forward to it too. It gives them an opportunity to meet their community, eat lovely foods, see familiar faces and connect with their culture and heritage.
Huge respect and appreciation to Sir Njok Malik, Yaram Arts and the entire team. Organising something of this size year after year is a huge achievement. That takes leadership, patience, humility, cooperation, resources and an enormous amount of personal sacrifice.
And with that, Yaram brings our festival season to a close. 🌍🎶❤️
From all of us at Afreek Art Bazaar — thank you! 🙏🏾
Until next year… Insha’Allah. ✨
Now, it’s back to school-based work during the week, and still trading weekends at Ridley Road. 💝
Culture. Community. Connection.
That’s what it’s all about. 🌍❤️
