WOW!house astonishes the interior design world each year and gained increasing respect since its launch in 2022. Now, the interiors event is firmly fixed in the international design calendar, displaying the highest standards of creativity in its showcase spaces, and brimming with ideas and inspiration. This year, every one of the 22 rooms told a story, with many designs blending craftsmanship with creativity in ways that often felt surprising, boundary pushing and enlightening. Designer Highlights:
ATMOSPHERE—Every room felt like stepping into a story rich with detail, mood and imagination. Low, layered moody lighting, dark woods, decadence and opulence gave a really interesting feel to many of the rooms.
COLOUR & PALETTE—Earthy hues with in dark tones, often mixed with bright, modern abstract art. Very much in keeping with the forecasted interiors trends from Scarlet Opus.
TEXTURES & LAYERS—Unexpected pairings, pattern on pattern, richly layered sophisticated spaces.
STANDOUT DETAIL—One detail I’ll be bringing into my own projects: more marble and layers of contrasting, natural textures which sing nature and make rooms feel tactile and dynamic.
TAKEAWAY—Luxury, or good design, is less about scale and more about thoughtful design choices.
KEY NOTES—This year WOW!house had its first ever paint sponsor, Benjamin Moore, who brought the colour to every space.
Also, Kelly Hoppen gave a lighting masterclass with a plenitude of ideas for how lighting can shape a space and set a tone.
