“This is going to be a belter”

We happened across an ammonite hunter on Whitby beach. Aren’t they amazing?! I managed to find a few bivalves but nothing as exciting as these.

We ran away to the seaside for Easter with family, beach trips to Whitby and, what I think might be my favourite, Runswick Bay. DeeDee is in her absolute element and even managed a little sea swimmy.

Before leaving I prepped a newsletter to send then promptly left my laptop at home so it’s been a few proper days off work. Back to it today as there’s something very very exciting happening behind the scenes…

Spring forward!

My little POP! Baby Cardigan pattern continues to be as popular as ever and it’s always a delight to see the many different versions popping up.

Shown here in natural Heritage DK and the sunny yellow of Socks Yeah DK, it’s a great pattern for all knitters whether you’re a beginner or have been knitting for years.

Follow the link to the DoaS shop for a hard copy and link to download, or find it in an LYS near you.

That very first skein of pure Hebridean wool in all its natural glory.

From the beginning I have never dressed up or shied away from this being a hardy, rustic, utterly beautiful wool that, at the time, was completely undervalued. How things have changed and that’s because of you seeing the value in fibre otherwise considered worthless. Thank you.

Thank you also to John Arbon of who persevered spinning the original batch with what I suspect was a certain amount of salty language!

My beautiful logo was designed by and I love it just as much as I did when I first saw it. Out of all the designs it was the one!
