Most “airport rated” floodlights aren’t built for airports near the ocean.

They’re built to meet a spec.

There’s a difference.

At coastal sites, the issue isn’t performance on day one.
It’s what happens after 12 to 24 months of salt exposure.

Corrosion doesn’t show up all at once.
It creeps in.

A damaged coating.
A fixing point.
A seal under pressure.

Then maintenance starts.

And on an apron, maintenance is never simple.
Access equipment, permits, operational disruption.
The real cost shows up later.

We’ve seen that material choice makes a bigger difference than most specs suggest.

In harsher environments, AISI 316 stainless steel tends to hold up far better over time. Not as an upgrade. Just as the right tool for the conditions.

We are proud to have delivered a brand-new sports lighting installation at Estadio Futuras Promesas in Panama, in partnership with Copab.

This wasn’t an upgrade. It was a transformation.

Before this project, the stadium had no permanent lighting in place. Now, it has a professional, broadcast-ready system delivering 500 lux with 0.70 uniformity across the main pitch, secondary pitch and running track. The difference in quality, consistency and visibility is night and day.

With 35 Master MR15 luminaires mounted on 20 m poles, the venue can now host evening training, competitive fixtures and televised matches with complete confidence. And thanks to full DALI compatibility, the system also supports flexible dimming, zoning and dynamic lighting scenes for events and ceremonies.

It is always exciting to see a venue unlocked in this way. From limited usage to full night-time capability, this project has opened the door to new opportunities for players, fans and the wider community.

A brilliant collaboration and a fantastic result.
