Luxury interiors aren't built from the budget.

They're built from intention.

We've distilled seven principles that shift how you approach every design decision, from lighting to art to the walls themselves.

The result is a space that feels expensive, considered and entirely, uniquely, yours.

Good interior design is mostly a series of quiet decisions about what not to do.

The restraint is the work. Knowing which wall to leave alone, which material to let speak, which trend to sit out entirely.

It's the difference between a luxury interior that feels carefully considered and one that just looks expensive.

It all comes back to the same belief for us: a home that feels intentional and effortless at the same time, and goes on feeling that way long after the project ends.

The detail you notice last is often the one you remember.

Grain, weight, the cool of stone.

This is where considered interior design lives.

Honoured to be shortlisted for the Interior Design Awards 2026, a second year running for the studio.

Our Faisan project is recognised in the International Residential category: two apartments in Berlin reimagined as a single 293sqm residence, where a restrained architectural language sets a calm backdrop for curated art and sculptural form.

With thanks to our client, and to the craftspeople who realised it so beautifully. We are proud to stand alongside three other studios in the category, and look forward to celebrating the best of British interior design.

In our interior design process, a moodboard is less a decision than a record of decisions being made.

Bringing samples together, seeing how they look against each other, swapping in and out. A palette resolves before any paint is chosen.

This is where our luxury interiors tend to find their tone. Long before decisions get made, the materials are already in conversation.

Interior designers know that you experience texture visually before you ever touch it.

The way a surface catches or absorbs light, the contrast between a woven fabric and a smooth stone, the grain of timber against the seamlessness of microcement; all of it registers before you're even aware of it.

These six materials each do something different to a room and understanding how to layer them is one of the most useful skills in interior design.

Depth, warmth, a sense of being genuinely lived in, all come from considered material choices.

Save this for when you're thinking about how to layer texture in your own luxury interior.

Lately we found ourselves drawn to curves.

The arch in a doorway, the rounded profile of a cabinet door, the gentle sweep of a sofa.

There's something about soft geometry that straight lines simply cannot do.

It's not accidental. Curved lines are inherently less confrontational than angular ones.

They reference natural forms, slow the eye down and create a sense of flow through a space.

An arch frames what lies beyond it and creates a moment of anticipation before you move through.

Carved joinery softens the edges of a room without compromising its rigor.

Rounded furniture brings warmth at a smaller scale.

The result is a room that feels considered rather than constructed.

Stone is one of the most committed decisions in a project.

Unlike paint or fabric, you're not changing it in five years.

Getting it right means understanding what the room is asking for before you fall in love with the particular slab.

Both marble and travertine are extraordinary materials. They just ask for completely different things from the spaces around them.

One leads. One layers.

Understanding which your space needs is the difference between a material that feels inevitable and one that feels like a choice you're still justifying three years later.

Brass is one of the few finish choices that rewards patience.

Unlaquered, it develops a patina over time that no other finish can replicate.

But brass isn't the answer to every room, or every home.

The architecture, the other materials, the quality of light, all of it informs which finish belongs.

The space makes the decision. We just listen to it.
