An ode to the frog jug.

Made for Wicklewood by Mexican ceramicist Gorky Gonzalez, these little characters became something of a cult favourite.

Endlessly useful, full of personality and never quite the same twice. Add a bunch of flowers and suddenly they had a fabulous hairstyle.

Mine makes me smile daily. I've been thinking about bringing them back. Anyone still want one? DM me if so. 🐸

A Guatemalan blouse and a Croatian marriage chest. Unlikely roommates getting along famously.

On the wall, a huipil from San Mateo Ixatán, Guatemala, hand-embroidered by C**j Maya women with mountains, stars, flowers and animals. Far too beautiful to keep in a wardrobe.

Below, a wonderful marriage chest from the Drava region in northeastern Croatia.

Two very different traditions, one happy corner.

From the camera roll: Lisbon

As the temperature drops, dreaming of Lisbon and its glorious tiled façades that brighten the dreariest of days. A city where the walls dress to impress. What's not to love?

Came across these wonderful collages by Eduardo Lugo Reyes in Oaxaca. Naturally, one wasn't enough.

Brought home a small stack, presented them to the jury (very discerning, highly opinionated) and framed a few favourites.

Thinking of framing a few more. DM me if interested.

Apparently I have a type.

A growing collection of times I've accidentally matched my surroundings.

Proof perhaps, that the things we are drawn to tend to follow us around.

Weekend activity: hand over a bunch of supermarket flowers and an assortment of little jugs and vases. Let the children loose on the arrangements.

A bit of colour, a little creativity and absolutely no respect for stem length.

Over the past year I have kept coming back to these photographs from my great-grandmothers archive.

1930s Guatemala. Women making at home. Weaving, sewing, embroidering. Working with their hands, often with children nearby. Many of them mothers.

I've looked at these photos many times before but now they resonate differently. They've made me consider how much creations comes in the midst of ordinary life — at kitchen tables, in courtyards and homes, between family and everything else. And, how craft, knowledge and tradition pass from one pair of hands to another.

There's something about that I want to understand more.

So, a first rabbit hole: women, motherhood and making — beginning with photographs taken by my great-grandmother many years ago.

A little Polish paper magic.

Pająki (meaning spiders) are traditional Polish folk decorations, usually hung to bring good fortune. Made from paper, straw and a great deal of patience.

I love decorating for parties using these glorious creations from FOLKA . Perfectly over the top. Now dying to join in one of Karolina Merska workshops. Although I suspect hers will turn out far better than mine!

A brilliant maker and friend. Natasha and I collaborated many times in the Wicklewood shop days. Always a joy. Our babies are a day apart and I continue to admire everything she touches.

From her wonderful headboard and framed fabric pieces to her amazing murals it's the colour, craftsmanship and attention to the most minute detail that gets me every time.

Endlessly talented and inspiring. A proper creative force.
