CARVED EARTH/ TERRA:
A stone island. Warm Oak. Bronze.
Terra by minotticucine, designed by Claudio Silvestrin, at Cannon Lane House, London. Three materials. An entire house.
The visual silence is total - white porphyry stone, oak and bronze. The versatility of the Terra cabinets carried through the house, from the kitchen to the bar to the basement spa, each space a continuation of the materiality and design.
The kitchen itself feels excavated rather than built. White porphyry - a stone that has existed for millennia - gives the island its cave-like stillness, yet the space opens entirely to the garden through a wall of glass.
Weight and lightness in the same breath.
Minimal. Monastic. Magnetic.
