The brief for this Crystal Palace bar was developed from the owner’s Caribbean menu. We came up with a name, Escape, a colour palette that reflected the vibrant beach vistas of St Lucia and Guadeloupe and a pared down, relaxed shanty town style of driftwood surfaces and painted furnishings that would age well as it became worn and lived in. Toilets were clean and minimal, whilst a basement snug area is being renovated with a night sky star ceiling, bean bags and soft backlighting to give a cool, chilled out area to kick back and enjoy a long cold Pina Colada in the company of friends old and new.

Thanks for all the page likes, get in touch if you need help. I often advise people working on a tight budget - aren't we all?! - to get help with one room and then work out from there using the same principles. It gets you through the tricky phase of choosing a colour palette and overall style and very often the fabrics and ideas not used for the first room can work in others.
