The Funktional Kitchens' design service begins with an initial planning appointment in one of our showrooms. Your input into the design process starts right here at the beginning, where we discuss in detail your personal needs and tastes. We will also give you an estimation of how much your project is likely to cost before arranging a site visit to your home. Once we have measurements, we create a Computer Aided Design of your new kitchen. We can show you several alternate versions to help you decide and will provide a full breakdown of costs. Once ordered, your kitchen usually takes about six weeks until it is ready for installation.

There’s nothing better than seeing a kitchen come together and hearing that the finished result has gone beyond expectations.

This lovely review says so much about how Vicky and Emma work with each client individually, particularly when there is a budget to keep in mind.

By working collaboratively, being flexible around items the client sourced themselves and making sure every measurement and detail was accounted for, the team were able to create a kitchen that felt considered without losing sight of cost.

And the finished result?

“The result is beyond my wildest expectations. I’m thrilled with it.”

The client especially loved the colour, the slim Shaker-style doors and the quality of the internal mechanisms, including the corner storage and pull-out shelving.

A big mention for Tom too, who fitted the kitchen and helped bring the whole design together.

More than a kitchen island.

In this recently installed Funktional kitchen, the island is doing far more than simply filling the centre of the room.

It creates generous prep space, adds valuable storage, provides informal seating and gives the kitchen a natural place for people to gather. The proportions matter too. It feels substantial without taking over the room, allowing the kitchen to stay open, practical and easy to move around.

The statement worktop gives it real presence, while the contrast against the clean white cabinetry makes the island the focal point of the whole space.

Good kitchen design is about making every element earn its place.

White, but never plain.

This recently installed Funktional kitchen proves that a white kitchen can still have real personality.

The gloss cabinetry keeps the space feeling bright and open, while the exposed brick, bold black island, statement worktop and warm pendant lighting add contrast, texture and drama. It is clean and contemporary, but far from ordinary.

Some kitchens do not need shouting about. They just quietly get everything right.

This recently designed and installed kitchen is a great example of how strong colour, warm materials and thoughtful layout can come together to create a space that feels both striking and easy to live with.

The deep blue-green cabinetry gives the room real presence, while the walnut detailing softens the scheme and adds warmth. The island works hard too, bringing extra prep space, seating and a natural place to gather, without overwhelming the room.
