Powell Tuck Associates is a practice of architects and designers, providing architecture, interior design, furniture design and landscaping services. The practice currently employs 15 staff, with core members who have worked with the practice for up to 14 years. Our studio, in Chiswick, west London, was purpose built by us in 2003. We take on both conversion and new build projects for individuals

and developers, and work across a range of sectors, which includes residential, commercial and retail. Our conversion work often involves complex and highly technical alterations and extensions to existing buildings, many of which are listed, and our aim is to create a contemporary design that is distinct from - but in harmony with - the existing building. We always start from the premise that the new use of the building should never obliterate its past life. Externally, our buildings are designed not to give too much away and to age gracefully. Many of our projects are in urban and Conservation Areas, which are often bound by planning restrictions and considerations and, as a result, we have very good experience of dealing with planning applications and an excellent track record for successful outcomes.

We are excited to share our recently completed project, Pember House, a former converted warehouse.

Our client approached us to renovate and tailor the property to their needs after it had been rented out. A free standing partition with a bespoke curtain and rail by creates an entrance sequence and provides privacy to the main living space.

As 2024 draws to a close, all of us at Powell Tuck Associates would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

We’d like to thank all our contractors and collaborators for their hard work and support this year. We’ve really enjoyed working with our current clients this year, and end 2024 on a high with some exciting things in the pipeline.

Next year, we will be celebrating our 35th birthday, and 2025 is already promising to be a great year for us. We have 6 projects approaching completion and look forward to sharing these with you in the new year.

We will be back in January with some progress photos from our Wimbledon development project, but until then, we hope you enjoy the festive season!

Rear renovations, swipe to see the view from the inside.
This large full width extension housed a new kitchen, dining and living area at ground level. The extension opens into the rest of the ground floor and to the rear garden, and a new large roof light helped fill the new space with light. The wedge shaped extension to the upper floors is zinc clad and sits lightly on to the existing rear elevation — its angled form allows space for a bathroom at one level and a smaller shower room above.
