I’m feeling that Matthew Williamson’s pad in the Balearics is a bit of me. He says “I’m fascinated by the colour pink because it’s so joyful and optimistic. I visited Anna Wintour in New York in the early 2000s, and just before a fashion show, she pulled a pink dress off the rails and said: ‘I love this dress. You should always do something pink in every collection you do.’ I think her voice is probably still in my head. That little nugget of advice has served me well.”

Another one for the “not all wedding plates look the same” series. My lovely customer sent me lots of photographs of the scene, on a vista surrounded by rolling hills, a wild flower lined aisle leading to the spot where they exchanged vows. I picked the foxgloves out of their flowers for the border (which I often do - as many Easter eggs as possible). I proposed a subtle outline of the couple, demonstrated with a mock up before we committed to it. I do hope it was a wonderful surprise for the couple and one that will bring happiness for a long time to come 💘
