It's easy to forget the impact of a light floor at this time of year.

With long summer days, daylight floods most interiors. But in spaces where natural light is limited - such as a lower ground floor - the choice of flooring can make a remarkable difference.

For this Victorian home, our blonde Landmark Ascott oak was selected for its soft, light-reflective tones. Rather than absorbing daylight, the pale timber helps carry it further into the interior, making the basement feel brighter, calmer and more spacious.

Paired with a restrained Scandinavian palette of plywood, cork and monochrome details, the floor provides a quiet foundation that lets the architecture and natural light take centre stage.

Light isn't only shaped by windows. The materials within a space determine how far it travels.

One simple detail completely changes the look of this chevron floor.

The internal border gives the pattern greater definition, strengthens the geometry and creates a more architectural feel. It’s a subtle addition, but one that elevates the entire design.

Starting the week with an interior that feels fresh, eclectic and deeply personal.

Art Deco pieces, mid-century furniture, bold wallpapers and pink kitchen joinery all coexist with surprising ease. The interior is layered and expressive, yet it never feels chaotic.

The key is consistency. Our Landmark Dalton herringbone parquet runs from the entrance hall through the raised ground floor and into the lower-ground spaces, creating a continuous architectural thread that connects each room.

Rich oak herringbone has a timeless quality, but here it feels anything but traditional. Against the eleborate colour palette and collected objects, the floor becomes the element that brings composure, warmth and rhythm to the entire house.

A beautifully considered Westminster apartment renovation by .

The flooring was designed as a continuous material language throughout the home. Light natural oak chevron defines the main living spaces, planks bring a quieter feel to the bedrooms, while the circular dining room becomes the focal point with a completely bespoke oak floor, designed and fitted to follow the architecture of the space.

The palette is calm and restrained, with the palest oak providing a quiet backdrop to carefully placed accents of olive green and warm yellow. It brings warmth and personality without overwhelming the architecture.
