We have been a 'featured member' on The List by House & Garden this week.

Here's a bit about every project featured on their site: https://buff.ly/4JaoFl1

1. Landmark Dyrham in Versailles panel for VEVES https://buff.ly/3bA7OSA
The entire house underwent a thoughtful reconfiguration and renovation. Still, it is in the large reception and dining room where our Versailles oak flooring takes centre stage, an exquisite showstopper that defines the heart of the home.

2. Magma Pacaya in mixed-width boards for Studio Tashima. https://buff.ly/vKY1x84
This deeply brushed oak was chosen for its ability to give immediate character to a new-build home in Highgate. The Magma range will soon make a return to our permanent collection - watch this space!

3. Strata Hurst in chevron parquet for Michaelis Boyd Architects. https://buff.ly/oSkvSJI
This refurbishment of a once dark mews house needed a floor that made the most of the newly acquired light. The chevron pattern gives an interesting dynamic element to the otherwise calm, light oak.

4. Landmark Osterley for Katie McCrum Studio https://buff.ly/P14mQbV
A completely bespoke colour for this project: a light neutral oak with cool, grey undertones. Note the way the boards are laid on the diagonal, cleverly leading your eye to the view of the lake.

5. Landmark Standon in herringbone for the refurbishment of a Victorian family home in South London. https://buff.ly/yltM98V
The rich, tawny-hued oak parquet complements the refined, modernist kitchen with its oily blue and terrazzo-like composite perfectly.

6. OscarOno Forêt Smoke by Les Ateliers Courbet for Design Miami 2021. https://buff.ly/g0VOVte
These intricate oak end-grain floors are available exclusively at Solid Floor in the UK. New patterns: one endgrain and 3 unique parquet patterns will be launched this summer. Stay tuned for more details.

7. Oak Tate Bute in oversized herringbone for an apartment in Amsterdam by our Founder & Director, Eelke Jan Bles. https://buff.ly/nCiPJ8x
This grey-brown oak has been a perennial favourite amongst our architect clientele for its texture, versatility and natural, 'earthy' colour.

Late nights at Clerkenwell.

If truly natural materials are what you’re after, step away from the main streets this evening and head into the Crypt at the Order of St John, where we join .walkonart at the Austrian Collection for 2026.

Expect thoughtfully crafted timber surfaces, material conversations and one of the calmest spaces in Clerkenwell during the busiest week of the design calendar. The church courtyard garden is also worth a visit — a quiet spot to pause between showrooms and talks.

You’ll find us right beside the stairs as you enter the Crypt.

Enter St John Priory Church from St John’s Square, a few steps from the DeVol showroom, then take the immediate left downstairs.

Open late tonight.

There’s something to be said for longevity.

Twenty-five plus years of specifying and installing materials brings a well of experience that only repetition, problem-solving and time can create. It shapes how you support, how you advise, and how you install.

Our 25th anniversary feels like yesterday. These postcard books were originally created to mark that milestone. A snapshot of 25 projects, and of where we’ve been, what we’ve learned, and what continues to drive us forward.

As we look ahead to our 30th anniversary next year, time feels both distant and immediate at once.

Three decades in, the aim hasn’t changed: good flooring should feel considered, lasting, and deeply connected to the people who live with it.

Parquets: border or no border?

Borders in parquet flooring can completely change how a space feels. The right border can frame a room beautifully, highlight architectural features, and bring a sense of craftsmanship and intention to the design.

But borders are not always the right choice.

In smaller or narrow spaces, such as hallways, a border can sometimes accentuate the proportions and make the space feel even narrower. In these cases, a wall-to-wall borderless parquet layout often creates a calmer, more expansive feel.

Borderless parquet also tends to feel more modern and works better in spaces with odd angles, irregular layouts, or open-plan designs where continuity is important.

Like most things in interior design, the decision comes down to the space's architecture, the room's proportions, and the atmosphere you want to create.

Borders can elevate a floor beautifully — but knowing when not to use one is just as important.

The same oak finish in three different formats.

Establishing a consistent material language allows each space to feel connected, even as its function shifts.

Here, that concept begins with Landmark Dyrham Oak. In the formal reception rooms, it’s expressed as a Versailles panel, bringing structure and a sense of occasion.

As the scheme transitions beyond these spaces, the same oak is used to clad the staircase before continuing across the landings and into the bedrooms in a simpler plank format, creating a quieter, more restrained backdrop.

One material, carefully reinterpreted by and .london shapes how each space is read. Balancing cohesion with contrast and elevating the overall experience without unnecessary complexity.

All of our timbers can be detailed onto staircases, and most are also available in parquet formats, offering further flexibility in how a scheme is expressed.

Earth Day comes with good intentions, as well as a lot of noise. Still, it’s a reminder worth holding onto: what we choose to live with has a lasting impact.

Longevity matters, also in interiors. Materials should be selected not only for how they look today, but for how they perform over time, and what they leave behind.

Timber flooring is an investment in durability and in the life of the material itself. Our floors are designed to age well, to be lived with, and to develop character over time.

Craftsmanship and precision installation sit at the core of every project we embark on. With the right care, one of our floors can last for decades, even generations. Because no tree should be cut down only to end up in a landfill a few years later.

It’s in the details.

In this Clapham Common townhouse, the installation of the Versailles parquet was as considered as the design itself. The pattern is set precisely on axis with the mantelpiece, creating a quiet sense of order within the room.

A generous triple border frames the floor, while discreet floor sockets are carefully integrated — small decisions that make a lasting difference.

Designed by Gordon Leney Studio in collaboration with Studio S-B.
