Lighting is one of those things that can completely transform a kitchen and we think about it from the very beginning of every project.

Natural light especially. The way it changes through the day, the way it makes materials look completely different in the morning compared to the evening. A room with good light just feels better to be in.

A rooflight like this one is rather special. It brings daylight deep into the heart of the room in a way that a window simply cannot. Paired with the oak framing overhead it adds such warmth.

When we start a new brief we always want to understand how the light moves through the space. Those conversations shape everything from where the island sits to which materials we choose.

We could honestly talk about light all day!!

Before any kitchen leaves our South London workshop it gets a full dress rehearsal.

Every cabinet assembled, every drawer fitted, every door hung and checked. We call it dry fitting and it is one of those steps that the client never sees but makes all the difference to what they end up with. Only once every single detail is right does it get wrapped up and sent to site.

There is something so lovely about a kitchen that has a place for everything and everyone in it.

The built-in dining bench, the central island, the seating just alongside it. Someone cooking, someone doing homework, someone just sitting with a cup of tea. This room was designed around all of that and you can really feel it!!

We love it when a material combination surprises you and then makes complete sense. This one did exactly that. Completely bespoke and made by hand in our South London workshop.

Isn’t this such a lovely way to bring colour into a home?

Deep terracotta shelving, little objects on every shelf, plants spilling through, and all those small things that make a room feel properly lived in. Grosvenor was such a joy to work on because this client knew exactly what they wanted, and what a great choice it was.

We are seeing more and more clients wanting colour in their homes, and we have to say, we are very happy about it.

That it takes longer than you expect. That you will be more involved than you imagined. That the people who build it in our South London workshop are the same people who fit it in your home.

School holidays are already here and in our house that means one thing. Every corner of the home is about to be put to the test!!

This little window seat is part of the same project as the kitchen we have been sharing and it is one of our favourite spots in the whole house. When we work on a home we think about all of it. The same materials, the same care running through every room.

Somewhere to sit with a book while the chaos happens around you. We all need one of those!!
