Getting ready for our new collection shoot next week…

Just a very small glimpse for now. I’ve been working with stronger shapes and simpler designs, adding a bit of structure and quiet drama to the space.

It’s the kind of simplicity that really draws you in.

I love how this look still feels calm, but a little more defined and textured at the same time.

More to come soon...

Corfu colours, every time!

I’ve just come back from a few days in Corfu — my sanctuary. A bit of everything this time… torrential rain, and then the most glorious sunshine (that’s just life, isn’t it).

And still, even after all these years, I find myself completely mesmerised. Somehow the view feels even better every time I return.

But what really stays with me are the colours.

That endless blue.
The softness of white.
And the richness of green woven through everything.

This is where so much of my colour inspiration begins — not in trends, but in moments like this. Palettes that feel effortless, balanced, and quietly uplifting… and that naturally find their way into my work.

I’m working on a few small updates at the villa, which I’ll style on my next visit… and of course, these colours will lead the way.

Because when colour feels right, you don’t question it — you just live with it.

I have always said that I approach design from the heart. To me, it isn’t just about the finished fabric; it’s my passion process. It is about being a journalist—observing a rhythm, a vintage beat, and translating that story into something tangible. ✍🏾✨

There is a certain magic in the quiet of the studio when my pencil meets the blank page. These sketches are where the music starts to take a new shape. From the soulful pulse and inspiration of "Afro Bounce" record cover, to the intricate lines of a new pattern, every stroke is a piece of my story.

It is more than a sketch; it’s a conversation between the past and the present. From the first beat of inspiration to the final curve of the design, this is how my stories are told.

There’s something about this time of year that always brings me back to myself…

Spring feels like a reset. A new beginning. And for me, a quiet reminder of what I truly love.

So if you’re new here — I’m Eva Sonaike.

I design with colour, I live through colour, and I genuinely believe our homes should feel vibrant, layered and full of life. Spaces that reflect who we are — not just something that looks staged.

I’ve always been drawn to bold pattern, rich texture and pieces with meaning. My work is rooted in my West African, Yoruba heritage, where culture shapes the way I see and use colour — how tones sit together, how patterns speak to each other, how a space carries depth, rhythm and quiet confidence.

Because for me, it’s never just about how something looks… it’s about what it holds.

And stepping into spring — my favourite season — feels like the right moment to lean into that even more.

More colour. More culture. More intention in the way we live.

If this resonates, you’re very welcome here — I share ideas, inspiration and ways to bring more colour and character into your home.

I watched a documentary the other day featuring a very high-end property… and I have to say—it made me cringe!

Everything was grey, black and white.
Very polished, very considered… but it felt so controlled, untouchable and cold. I didn’t like it at all!

It reminded me again why I keep coming back to colour over and over!

Because for me, a home is about feeling.
It’s about warmth, personality, and creating a space that actually reflects who you are.

Which brings me back to our Ijọba Copper.

There’s a quiet confidence in this design.
Not loud, not overpowering, it is just rich, grounding, and full of depth.

Set against aubergine and warm wood, it doesn’t try to impress. It simply blends into the space… and suddenly everything feels more layered, more personal.

I may be biased, but I really think this is one of my favourite designs—so timeless and versatile.

For me, colour isn’t about being loud.
It’s about creating depth, atmosphere, and a space you genuinely want to live in.

So that’s why colour is something I’ll always come back to.

Is colour still relevant in today’s world of neutral interiors?

It’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.

In my studio, everything begins with colour, which I explore through textile design, layering tones, and refining palettes until they feel balanced and considered and joyful!

Many of the combinations I work with are influenced by West African textiles, where colour feels expressive, confident, and meaningful.

And I think that’s the shift -
colour isn’t about adding more, but about using it with intention.

If you’ve ever felt unsure about working with colour in your own space, you’re not alone.
It’s really about understanding how colours interact and support each other.

For me, colour will always be more than decoration -
it carries culture, character, and emotion.

I always love conversations that go deep.

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of joining Tash from and interior designer and fellow African 🇿🇦 on her 'How To Renovate' podcast to talk about something very close to my heart — how heritage, colour and culture shape the way we design our homes.

We spoke about building a colour-led design studio, trusting your instinct when your aesthetic doesn’t follow the dominant narrative, and why designing with cultural confidence matters.

Interior design is often presented as surface.
In reality, it’s structure — creative, emotional and commercial.

For me, colour has always been the starting point. Through textiles, pattern and material I try to tell stories that bring warmth, identity and personality into a home.

It was such a thoughtful conversation — thank you Tash for having me.

🎙 The episode is now live on the How To Renovate Podcast

I always love seeing how clients incorporate our pieces into their homes, and this beautiful desk corner from a South London residential project by is such a lovely example.

Here, our Aburi Pink Pouffe adds both function and personality to this thoughtfully designed workspace.

Pouffes are one of those pieces I often recommend because they are extremely versatile — perfect as comfortable extra seating, a relaxed footrest, or even as a small side table when needed.

What I particularly love in this space is how the patterned pouffe gently anchors the room. The soft pink tones and vibrant design bring warmth, texture and visual interest to the space while tying the different elements together.

It is also a great reminder that African-inspired patterns can integrate beautifully into many interior styles.

When layered thoughtfully, they add depth, character and a subtle sense of story — even in more understated interiors like this one.

What a great day to share this.

My recent feature in from the March issue has just gone live online — and it feels like the perfect moment to celebrate it on International Women’s Day.

Running your own business is an amazing journey, but it also means wearing many hats. For many of us it’s about building something meaningful while also being a mother, wife, daughter, friend — and still finding moments to stay true to ourselves.

A big shout-out to all the incredible women building their own empires, creating beautiful things, and juggling life with so much strength and grace.

And a big thank you to the wonderful Woman & Home team for featuring me alongside the girls from .

Wishing everyone a wonderful International Women’s Day ✨

Choosing colour for your home should feel inspiring — not overwhelming.

For me, colour is never simply decoration. It is a language that shapes how a space feels, how rooms connect, and how we experience our homes every day.

Through my Colour Guide, I share the principles behind my approach to colour — how to create joyful interiors, build balanced palettes, and allow colour to flow beautifully from one room to the next.

Because when colour is used with intention, it has the power to completely transform the atmosphere of a home.

You can explore the Colour Guide via the link in my bio.
