Nobody tells you about the two seconds between handing over the flowers and seeing someone's face.

The flowers hit first.

Gloriosa lily. Oncidium orchid. Her Indonesian roots worn closest to her on the most important walk of her life.
Soft blue delphinium for Simon — a nod to the German garden summers he still carries with him.

A Jacobean mansion in Hertfordshire in full July bloom.
This brief was a dream. Two cultures, one colour story, a venue that already knew what it wanted. I just listened.

"It doesn't look like anyone else. It's you. It has everything of you in it."
And then she saw the room. She turned to Simon and said she'd be back for more.

Corsages are not always where I tell couples to spend their money. But when they are chosen — they will be a showstopper. Always.
"Such beautiful big tie ins."

Some days this job is really something else.

Talking to camera is not my strongest skill.
The flowers usually do the talking.
But this one deserved it.

Every wedding has a story. This one had three.

Simon's German heritage tended a garden the way people used to — with patience, their hands, and no shortcuts. Aisha carries Southeast Asian roots that bloom loud and vivid when you let them.
And sits in 27 acres of Hertfordshire countryside that July turns outrageously beautiful.

My job was to find where all three of those things meet.
Gloriosa lily and oncidium orchid for Aisha — worn closest to her on the most important walk of her life, her heritage travelling down the aisle with her.

Masses of soft blue delphinium and roses moving through peach and burnt orange for the room.
Seasonal English foliage and jasmine built tall and wild behind where they stood — the grounds outside, brought in.

A growing garden in a Jacobean hall.
Flowers that knew where they were.

Behind every Saturday wedding is a week that looked nothing like the plan.

This week was moving into a new working storage space.
Packing. Loading. Unloading.
Steps. Heavy lifting.
More than a few vans worth of stuff.

And I am not just flowers.

You are looking for someone who will actually listen
to what the day needs to feel like — and then build it.

Two families and two traditions held in one room.
A vibe lived with for months that finally has a design to match.
A brief that takes courage to say out loud.

I do my best work from.

Two couples recently came back to me after consulting others.

Same reason both times.

They chose me because of the way I understood & respond to their brief — and what I did with it.

In a day to day job like floral design our hands are the work.

They speak movement.
They talk actions.
They reflect truth and honesty.
They show the integrity and attention of how things get done.

They do not lie.

The flowers are never the whole story.

They are the part I design.
But I notice everything else.

The jewellery that belonged to someone who is no longer here.
The fabric of the dress and what light does to it.
The architectural detail nobody else paused at.
The object brought from home that sat quietly on a table all day.

These things are not decoration.
They are the day.

The flowers I design have to understand that they are
one part of a larger memory — one being assembled
from heirloom objects and stone floors and the specific gold of a bangle against a certain dress colour.

A wedding is not a brief.
It is a collection of meanings gathered together for one day for a bigger purpose.

The flowers just have to be worthy of the company they keep.

A feeling and two flower names.

That is a brief.

"Simona really took the brief and ran with it,
creating the florals of my dreams,
transforming the venue
and creating an entirely new atmosphere."

And then this:

"It was the best money I invested
in my wedding."

I'll say this as I see it.

There's a version of this industry where it's about who you know. Who you're seen with. Who reposts you.
That's not what I'm building at Anomis.

I care about what you do and how you do it. That should matter more than who's in your contacts.
Maybe I'm too old school. Maybe I'm still living in some mental era where that was just... normal. But hey.

It's not just flowers in vases. It's the planning, the logistics, the details nobody sees.

And then there's the part nobody talks about - a 90 minute turnaround from ceremony to reception in a Grand Hall. Everyone watching sees the magic. What they don't see is the army it takes to make that happen on time, every time.

Transparency gets talked about like it's a content strategy. Show your process, look relatable. But that's not what it actually is.

It's how someone treats you when the cameras aren't on. Whether they're the same person at 6am as they are in the final reveal.

That's people being people. Some are consistent. Some aren't. You find out which is which when nobody's watching.

This is how I was raised. Do the work, let it speak. It's how I've built everything since, even when it cost me opportunities that would've come faster the other way.

I'm not changing that now.

One of the bridesmaid bouquets hit the floor on delivery. Things do happen no matter how perfect we want them to be (and don't i know it - my obsession of perfection inherited from my mom🤣).
You fix it, you move on and The end🙂.

This is what a wedding day actually looks like from my side — loading the van strategically, talking the bride through every bouquet before she carries it, reading the space and the light the moment I walk in, and building the tables around what the room needs.

The making of the flowers is honestly the easy part. It's everything before that day — the planning, the sourcing, knowing your flowers and how they'll hold — that makes it run smoothly.

These garden roses though. I had to stop and just look at them - they deserved it.
