2026 Flooring Trends: It’s All About Texture
Flooring is no longer just about colour — texture, pattern and proportion are making a major impact on how we style our homes in 2026.

Herringbone & parquet continue to bring timeless character and elegance, especially in hallways, kitchens and living spaces.

Ultra-matte and brushed finishes are replacing high-gloss floors, giving wood a more natural, tactile look while being practical for everyday life.

Oversized planks are also gaining popularity. Wider, longer boards create fewer visible joins and a cleaner, more spacious feel — particularly effective in open-plan London homes.

At Russdales Flooring, we believe the right floor should be beautiful, practical and expertly fitted.
Which 2026 trend would you choose for your home — classic herringbone, natural matte wood or oversized planks? 👇

🏡 The flooring trends taking over London homes in 2026
If you’re thinking about updating your living room this year, the search data is telling us exactly what homeowners are looking for 👀
✨ Herringbone is officially having a moment.
With 202,000+ monthly UK searches, herringbone remains the most searched flooring layout — and in 2026, we’re seeing a growing preference for wider, chunkier planks. Fewer seams create a more seamless look, which can also help smaller London living rooms feel more spacious.
🌳 Warm oak is replacing cool grey.
With 109,000+ monthly searches, warm, natural oak tones are firmly leading the way. Think honey, biscuit, caramel and soft taupe — shades that add warmth, light and a timeless feel to your home.
And let’s be honest… grey flooring has had its moment. 🤍
Whether you’re renovating a period property or giving a modern London home a refresh, the right flooring can completely transform the feel of a room.
Herringbone + warm oak = one of the biggest flooring combinations for 2026.
