Looking at the traditional Victorian house setting from a different angle! Understanding the way you live and use your space is key to a successful interior project. My lovely client was keen and very good at communicating this very important aspect. Both she and I couldn’t be happier with the result which totally transformed their home.
Typical of this type of house, the kitchen, which doubled up as a dining room, was long, dark and far from being the best place to entertain guests.
My client was also frustrated with a middle room which they used as a playroom/ dumping ground and as access to the kitchen that was cluttered with doors to the downstairs loo and washing machines.
We decided to partly incorporate the middle room into the kitchen as well as into the side return and even a bit further into the garden to add a little snug room full of sunshine (whenever it’s out!). We then created a beautiful utility room and a colorful downstairs loo in the remaining part of this obsolete middle room. More photos to follow…
