Hello everyone, welcome to Flow Works.
My name is Rachael Connaughton. I founded Flow Works in 2020, an architecture and interior design studio dedicated to creating beautiful, soulful buildings and spaces.
I'm originally from the west of Ireland and moved to London in 2009 to complete my training as an architect. While London remains my permanent base, I frequently travel back to the west of Ireland to be with family and to continue to work in its stunning rural and urban settings. My commute from London to Ireland is often quicker than my commute across London itself allowing me to practice in both locations.
Flow Work's portfolio to date spans new build homes, extensions and reconfigurations of existing homes, conservation projects and repurposing existing structures—including the transformation of an old bank into a medical center and the conversion of a Dutch barn in Somerset into a retreat space.
Intuition, joy and imagination guide our design process as we seek ways to enrich the essence and spirit of the people and places we work with. We deeply engage with the wider physical context, its historical significance, local character, materials and skills, the surrounding community and most importantly, our clients. We listen, and we celebrate their values, interests and their vision for life so that designs become the embodiment of their own personal story or that of the end user. This approach, we believe, plays a significant role in sustainable design - in meaningful buildings and spaces being loved and cherished for years to come.
We work with people who value thoughtful, considered, high quality design, whether you're a homeowner, home seeker, developer or commercial client. If you have a design project in mind or an existing design that might not yet feel aligned, please feel free to get in touch.
Enjoy coming home.
