Discover a beautiful selection of ancient Roman and Medieval coins from our eBay auctions ending soon, with an interesting variety to bid on.

Coins include a well preserved bronze follis of Maxentius minted between 307-312 AD, which features a hexastyle temple on the reverse, containing Roma seated right on throne, holding sceptre and globus. Maxentius was the last emperor to permanently reside in Rome. He attempted to embellish, restore and improve the ancient capital, carrying out important building works, including the Temple of the Divine Romulus

Claudius II Gothicus (269 AD) Roman AE Tetradrachm. Alexandria Mint.

In Egypt, Roman coinage was based on the Ptolemaic system until 296 CE. The symbol “L” on the coins is usually used for the word year and is followed by the year the Emperor issued the coins.
